Xbox Live Gaming Night(s) Organization Thread

Alright, it's about time those of us who have LIVE talk about when is the best time to start a weekly GameTavern night.

I'm fairly certain the most popular games are Team Fortress 2, Grand Theft Auto IV, and Halo 3.

So, let's setup a day and time each week during the summer in which we'll game together. Friday and Saturday are obviously bad nights, so I was thinking one day during the week.

If everyone posts what time(s) they're free during the week I'll find a time that works for all of us.

Times:
Aladuf - 8pm et or later
Fox 6 - afternoon / early evenings
BreakABone - afternoon or later
jeepnut - anytime
Professor S - 7pm et or later on week days / anytime on Sunday
Swan - anytime except Thursday
Bube - 2pm - 7pm et anyday
Zen - Sunday
Renwood - Whenever he feels like it

What?! no Gears? Fuck this!

Re: Xbox Live Gaming Night(s) Organization Thread

I wouldn't mind getting back into PSU. My only beef is that it's STILL $14 fucking 99 a month in Canada with NO other payment options. I'm beginning to hate the shit out of Sega. I hope they realize nobody in Canada is playing because they haven't lowered it yet.

Fox 6 05-15-2008 08:20 PM

Re: Xbox Live Gaming Night(s) Organization Thread

I get off at 1pm ish so anytime in the afternoon/early evenings are good.

Yeah.
And I get off generally between 2-3 EST.

So early afternoons are good for me as well.

Re: Xbox Live Gaming Night(s) Organization Thread

I can't think of any times that are bad for me right now. But that could change quickly when I finally land a job.

Anybody going to be on tonight?

P.S. Aladuf, I'll get Gears when it finally drops in price. My roommate had a copy, but now I've moved back home.

Re: Xbox Live Gaming Night(s) Organization Thread

I'd love top join in, but keep in mind I work for a living. Anything before 7pm on weekdays is pretty much a no-go for me. But Sundays are good almost any time...

Swan 05-16-2008 02:15 AM

Re: Xbox Live Gaming Night(s) Organization Thread

Thursdays are no go's for me as band stuff is pretty much all day.....But random times work for Dylan

Bube 05-16-2008 04:26 AM

Re: Xbox Live Gaming Night(s) Organization Thread

Since it's summer we're talking about, I'll be available every day. The best time would probably be between 2pm - 6pm EST, which is 9pm - 1am local time for me.

Zen 05-16-2008 04:50 AM

Re: Xbox Live Gaming Night(s) Organization Thread

Sundays would be the better bet in my case, i am NOT available on the week.

Aladuf and Dyne: what times work for you?

Aladuf 05-16-2008 12:21 PM

Re: Xbox Live Gaming Night(s) Organization Thread

lol sorry, I forgot to post my times :P

Pretty much from 8pm-?? pm/am (EST) any night of the week. I'm on summer break and I don't work past 7pm ever so I'm good to go.

@ Jeepnut: :D Yay! Get that Gears! :lolz:

Re: Xbox Live Gaming Night(s) Organization Thread

I'm pretty sure most of us have GoW. But I'm going to be honest with you, I did not find the multiplayer fun at all. I enjoyed the singleplayer a lot, but the multiplayer just seemed tacked on. Am I wrong?

Aladuf 05-16-2008 01:29 PM

Re: Xbox Live Gaming Night(s) Organization Thread

No you're right, it was definetly tacked on, Epic has even said that before. But even for how simple/basic it is, I have fallen completely in love with it and its style. It's not a problem if we don't play it though, I could probably stand to play some other MP game too. :)

Halo 3
Gears of War

Actually, I don't have Gold right now. I might in a month or so, though.

Alright, looks like we have all the times. I'll wait a few days if anyone else wants to reply with the time(s) they're free, and then I'll work on arranging the gaming night.

Aladuf 05-18-2008 12:01 AM

Re: Xbox Live Gaming Night(s) Organization Thread

Wow, I just realized that the only game on that list I have is Halo 3.... will we be playing any other games? or just those?

I feel I have been sorely underrepresented and can only assume it has to do with rainbows.

I forgot to say, the only multiplayer game I own on the playable games list is Halo 3. If it's not a Halo night, then automatically count me out.

And I'm adding a rule to these gaming nights - no mic, no game. We all have to talk.

Sucks to be Bond it seems. ;) :p

Myself, Swan and Cam generally talk. Especially after an accidental betrayal in GTA.

We played once but you never talked. It would've been nice to hear what you had to say after I came back from a 4-0 loss to beat you 5-4 :)

And why would I regret this Ren? I think we're all mature enough not to sing in high pitched voices or insult each other's parents :)

Wait.
We've played before?

I don't ever remember playing with you before.
Gonna look into this, but dollar to donuts pretty sure my younger siblings.

Just a little update with my gaming situation... I bought COD4 for the 360 today, so I'll be able to join in on that with you guys.

I never really did hardcore when I played it on the PS3 but I'll give it a shot.

We need to also have some GT 1 vs. 1 matches or 2 vs. 2 or whatever. Not only for COD but other games too. To show off our true skills!

maybe a tournament?!

Sorry for the delay.

Our first gaming night should be a day next week.
