The Alphabet Thread

Aw yeah. I don't think we've done this here before yet, but this is a thread dedicated to the fine art of alphabet posting. You simply need to post with the next letter in the alphabet in the first letter of your first word. You will need to post more than a few words - or else I'll end the game. Think of this as an all-purpose chat thread with a twist.

And... go!

gekko 05-01-2008 05:26 PM

Re: The Alphabet Thread

But what if I just wanted to post the word boobs and not have to pad it with all this irrelevant nonsense simply to prevent you from ending the game?

BreakABone 05-01-2008 05:29 PM

Re: The Alphabet Thread

Come on you would be above such things as just posting the words boobs.

Dyne 05-01-2008 05:35 PM

Re: The Alphabet Thread

Don't fret. Boobs are definitely still a worthy topic of discussion.

Par example: Katherine Heigl's boobs. Nice.

Endless fantasies exist in my dreams where I drizzle hot fudge along the smooth, refined surfaces of Jennifer Connelly's luscious boobs and slowly lick it off with my tongue.

For those who aren't in the know Dyne, who might this delectable Katherine Heigl be?

Good god, you don't know her? The chick from Grey's Anatomy and Knocked Up?

She's pretty hot.

Gamemaster: ..Wow, that's the most het thing I've seen you post. Hahaha.

Hoping not to sound a prude, but in future I will be setting some boundaries regarding posts of a sexual nature. Not that what you said was anything that any 12 year old isn't thinking already, but let's try to keep it clean.

Also, she was on the relatively under the radar Sci Fi show, Roswell.

Lately I've been going to the gym quite frequently, but I still haven't found an ab routine that I really like. Any suggestions?

The Germanator 05-01-2008 11:44 PM

Re: The Alphabet Thread

Me too! As in, I've been going to the gym a ton lately...I've run 30 miles so far this week on the treadmill in 4 days (7.5 miles a day). I do a lot of crunches on one of the machines with 60 pound weights. I've lost 10 pounds in a month, so I think I'm doing pretty well! I'm still looking to lose about 30 more, so it won't be easy.

Swan 05-01-2008 11:49 PM

Re: The Alphabet Thread

Now I am bad for this, I have not gone to the gym in a few weeks. My friend I usually go with, Bitches, has been busy with work so he has not been able to go. And when he can I have plans. So it sucks

Happydude 05-02-2008 12:14 AM

Re: The Alphabet Thread

oh yeha, sure, blame it on your friend...what are you too scared to go to the gym alone?! pfft...come on wussy! you're a man, you can do thing on your own!

Re: The Alphabet Thread

Physical fitness seems to be a recurring theme in this thread. As it so happens, I went to my local 24 Fitness today. I did 40 crunches.

Bond 05-02-2008 12:24 AM

Re: The Alphabet Thread

Quite right happydude. I actually think I do a lot more work in the gym if I go by myself as opposed to going with friends.

Germy, have you also started eating differently in addition to working out?

The Germanator 05-02-2008 12:35 AM

Re: The Alphabet Thread

Reducing my food/calorie intake has been an important part of my change for sure. I've cut out soda, switched to soy milk full time for my high protein/high fiber cereal, and I'm not eating as much red meat...Morningstar veggie products are a godsend, they are so damn good and way healthier than any meat.

Dyne 05-02-2008 01:31 AM

Re: The Alphabet Thread

Stand-up job Germanator. I'm looking to lose some pudginess too. I'm going to be starting running again tomorrow. I can't believe I gained back most of the 60 pounds of weight I lost years ago, even if it's packed on in places that aren't visible. I tried last year, but I gained way too much muscle and lost only 10 pounds. Time to get rid of all the fat.

Try as I might, I just lack motivation by myself. I wil get into the habit of going by myself, i just need the motivation.

Wait a minute! Hold on!

Can't we, the refined Gentlemen of GameTavern, find some sort of middle-ground here? Look at us! Clucking at one another like uncivilized hens!

I propose a special X-Rated forum for only the most elite of members! In this said board, ANYTHING can be posted. Think of it as GameTavern's own rendition of 4chan, if you will. How will we screen who gets in and who doesn't, you ask? Why the same way every exclusive men's club filters their members; invitation only, kind Sir.

Of course, I only speak in jest. I could never entertain such thoughts for real.

Betty Botter had some butter,
"But," she said, "this butter's bitter.
If I bake this bitter butter,
it would make my batter bitter.
But a bit of better butter--
that would make my batter better."
So she bought a bit of butter,
better than her bitter butter,
and she baked it in her batter,
and the batter was not bitter.
So 'twas better Betty Botter
bought a bit of better butter.

Every time I incorrectly recited that tongue twister, my nanny would make me suck her toes. :( Thank God we only had her for 3 years.

Capital idea, but that idea was beaten to. It was at Gamingforce and it's called The Sewers. It ended up being more trouble than it was worth.

Finally, last night, I discovered the wonders of a good I.P.A. at the Steamworks Brewery restaurant in downtown Vancouver. Holy shit, what a beer. It was probably the most delicious drink I've ever had. I have got to have more microbrews.

The Germanator 05-04-2008 04:16 PM

Re: The Alphabet Thread

Good microbrews are what make the world go 'round. I'll probably go back to Total Wine in DE sometime in the next month or so and pick up some beers from around the world. Total wine is a gigantic liquor paradise which carries 8,000 varieties of wine, 2,000 varieties of spirits, and over a 1,000 types of a beer. It's a drinker's heaven, but it's about 50 minutes away from me so you have to make one trip worth it's while.

gekko 05-04-2008 04:37 PM

Re: The Alphabet Thread

How did I not know about that when I lived in CA? Damn! Oh, well. I got it pretty good up here in WA, new beer store opened last summer and stocks almost everything that they can ship out-of-state. Usually have some of the really rare stuff in stock all year too, like the DogFish Head 120 Minute IPA for those of you who like IPAs. I'm not a big fan.

I'll take stouts, stouts, and more stouts. Which reminds me, I need one for lunch.

I've heard that's the best of the best as far as American IPA's go. I'll have to try it if I find it.

Just so you know, it's seasonal. The 60 and 90 minute are a little easier to find. The 120 is supposed to be really hard to find, and usually it comes and goes real quick once a year. Ironic, because I have never not seen it in stock since August. If they sell DFH brews, they should be able to reserve you some though.

Speaking of DFH, the World Wide Stout and Raisan D'Xtra pack quite a punch and are delicious! Had a Pike Stout for lunch today. Not too shabby. Should've stopped in at the pub last time I was in Seattle.

But nothing beats the fact that my local beer shop got a license to serve and has Ten FIDY on tap :D Makes shopping for beer so much more enjoyable :p

Kudos for being a Dogfish Head fan. I feel privileged that they are a Delaware brewery because it's fairly easy to find around here. I'm absolutely in love with their Punkin Ale...Best pumpkin beer I've ever had.
