Lost finale
Now that was a crappy finale. And the fact we had American Idol for two hours and ten minutes inbetween didn't help.

Re: Lost finale
I got that the last scene was a glimpse of the "future", I guess. Instead of answering a lot of questions, it just created new questions. I guess that's why I like the show.
I ****ing hate John Locke. I also thought they actually killed Sayid, Bernard and Jin. I was really worried. Hahah. Hurley was useful for once. |

you gotta be kidding me. that was a great episode. The 'last scene' wasnt a glimpse of the future.. that was the whole flashback throughout the episode was the 'future' so to speak. so instead of being on the island and having flashbacks of the past off the island... in this episode it was the opposite. the actual time was off the island afterwards and the flashbacks were from when they were on the island. and im wondering if thats how they're going to continue the last 3 seasons of it. all post-island stories with flashbacks of the island to finish up the story from then. because we've pretty much learned all thier past anyway. John Locke is the freaking man. he's the core of this show. great great episode though. after all the disappointing finales, (like heroes and 24) this one made me forget all the disappointment's. and the office finale was pretty good too. |
Re: Lost finale
I loved this finale.
And I don't think the last scene was a glimpse to the future, I think it was still an actual flashback, and they're trying to throw in a "Whaaaa, they knew eachother before the island" sort of thing. Then again, I'm never right. I actually laughed when Walt was standing above the grave and was talking to John. In a sense, he looked so stereotypically black-gangster standing there, and I was waiting for him to say "You gotta cap someone" after he said "You have work to do." I was also really wishing the code was "Funkytown", ala South Park and Towlie. |

hes talking about the island. my guess is the funeral was for either Locke or Ben. im leaning towards locke. and obviously when kate says she has to get going be cause 'he'll' be waiting. shes with sawyer. |
Re: Lost finale
I thought the finale was awesome. Of course I read all the spoilers so I knew what was going to happen.
John Locke is my favorite character and is central to the mythology of the show. Even though he is following his own path, he was acting like he too knew of the danger posed by contacting Naomi's boat. The funeral was most likely for a man named Jeremy Banthem. J- -anthem is visible on the article, and "Jeremy Banthem" is the name of a philosopher. Several Lost characters are named after philosophers. |
Re: Lost finale
It was definitely not Locke in the casket. He would die on the Island if he had to.
And yes, I'm sticking by my original statement. They could've done so much more with it. I thought it was the weakest of the three Lost finales by far. That final scene? It shouldn't been intense, not an awkward exchange between former friends. |

thats exactly the point of it though, sure if they left the island how they were now they'd be great. but you dont know what else happened on that island, and what else happened afterwards before that point. they probably were together at some point, something happened, and seeing each other now would be awkward. my tivo recorded the show, (i watched it in HD) but tivo doesnt have the quality to read the newspaper so i didnt see a name on it. |

Re: Lost finale
The more I think about it, the more I really enjoyed the season finale. I was thinking about a couple of things, though:
- In one of the 'flash-forwards', jack tells the chief of surgery guy to find his father to see how drunk he is... but his dad is dead. Was this Jack just talking **** or is there a possibility he is alive? - Jacob.... what? -About my comments on Locke: I thought he was great the first season and 1st half of the second season, but his continuing feuds with Jack and his 'mystical connection' with the island got pretty lame. That's just me. I did enjoy the episode with Sawyer and Locke's father. - How do you guys feel about Charlie's death? |

I was wondering how long they'd carry on the "Charlie's going to die, but not yet" thing for - to the point you'd think they're ****ing with you and you think he actually wont die. I like how he didn't just die, but went out with something important to give to the next season. PS. Why didnt he just leave the room, and lock the door after he's out? |

So I mainly think that what should have happened in the episode: John should've shot Jack. That would have made him badical. The tension just felt without purpose without him shooting Jack. And it would also add more questions about the flashforwards. Charlie also should've had a more urgent death. As it stands, it just felt lame. |

well what i was thinking when i saw it, is he did it to save desmond, because penny was on the line, desmond woulda risked it to have a chance to talk to her. and if charlie ran out and shut the door desmond could have just opened it. only locking it from the inside coulda stoped him that was just my initial impression of it. but hey, thats life, people always do things that you can step back and say, hey, why didnt you just do this? :p the better question, was why didnt he just let the room fill up then swim out the broken window. unless they plan to have him back next season and say thats what he did. never know. |

MAYBE CHARLIE IS THE ISLAND. Who knows. Lost is ****ed up. It will either end up being one of the best shows ever made, or [depending on the ending] one of the worst, and stupidest ever. |
Re: Lost finale
window was too tiny? maybe for hurley to get through, but chairlie could easily swim through with room to spare. watch it again and see.
even if the next 3 seasons went down the crapper. the first 3 will still stand as some of the best television i've ever seen. which i doubt they'll mess this one up. they have it planned out. 48 episodes left, they know the ending, every episode left should be building towards it. with alias, they tried to extend it and keep it going past the point where it shoulda ended and it got really crappy towards the end. i think they're correcting that mistake with this show |

Because after the finale, I dont see how they can keep it going on the island for another couple seasons. |
Re: Lost finale
Phil. I don't know what your problem is. But the finale was amazing. And you should have watched it uninterupted on ABC.
The action was solid all the way through. It played on every emotion and had several "Oooooh sh*t!" moments. This episode reminded me of why I liked this show so much in the first place. The future thing I believe is a very interesting direction to take it. I'm sure the main story line will still be on the island. But anyways, that was a damn fine episode. t Bluefire: The Jack asking him to bring his dad down was an effect of the extreme pain killers/anti-depressants Jack has been popping. Plus it was to throw us off into thinking this was a flashback. Considering the episode was about Jack's decisions as a leader I'm assuming that he's about to **** up something serious and only a few of them will get off the island possibly leaving many behind which is why Jack wants to go back. The reason Kate doesn't want to see him is probably because she's still on the run from the law and if she sees Jack in public she could get picnhed by law enforcement. A lot of people are asking why Charlie died and couldn't he have avoided it. The door locks from the inside so he couldn't have just left and locked it. He sacrificed himself to save Desmond. If the water got through it would have compromised the pressure in the hatch and the water would have started coming up from the moon pool. Desmond would have probably not have enough time to get his scuba gear on. And for the matter of them just both swimming up: it takes longer to swim up that to swim down. So who knows if they would have made it. And they can easily keep this show on the island. I think all will be well. It's just going to suck waiting 8 months for the next season to come on. The next three seasons are 16 episodes long and will run January or February till May. Nooo Looooost for so long. The DVDs come out in September and will have extra discs. So that will be sweet. |

i dont know why that would be a terrible feeling... think about it. what would be the difference from now? half the show would be on the island half would be off. but instead of the off learning about their pasts... it would learn about them since getting off the island. honestly, if done right that could be an absolutely brilliant way to go. i for one loved this episode, and thats exactly what it was. jack off the island with flashbacks to on the island. im happy the split the last 48 episodes into 3 seasons, makes the show last longer, and 16 episodes per season is still more then some shows do. |
Re: Lost finale
I love this show... I'm really bugged about having to wait til February to watch TV again. :(
