Dilema
I need some help, people! Okay, I have about three hundred dollars that I will be spending shortly, and I want some advice from you people on what I should purchase. Here are the choices :
A) The new Kevin Garnett "And 1" basketball shoes and SpiderMan for PS2. B) A DiscMan and SpiderMan for PS2 C) Nothing. Start saving your money, Joeiss! So, please help me decide! I am not good at choosing easy things like this! |
Discman? Ever hear of MP3s?

C because the only the thing I would buy in the other two choices would be Spider-Man, and even then for the GCN and not the PS2.
|
MP3 players? $300? Not all of them.
I gots mine for $60 :D (I got a Compaq iPAQ BTW..) |

Umm... Any recomendations on which MP3 Player I should purchase? I want a cheap one that can hold a bunch of songs. Yup yup. |
Well you pay for basically 2 things, size, and space.
Maybe it's just me, but I don't want a clunky-ass MP3 player. Most of the cheap ones with big storage will be big and fat, like the size of a discman. Others have much less storage (can only hold like as much as a CD), but are tiny, and actually portable. Also, consider some things like a radio. Sometimes using the radio is a really nice feature. Some MP3 players also have room for an expansion card, to hold more songs if you wanna pay the cash. Another thing to consider is what do they run on. Some run on normal batteries, others come with rechargable ones that charge when on the cradle, but can also be replaced with normal ones on the road if they die. Others only have internal batteries and you're screwed if it dies. Now for my recommendation... Apple iPod! Comes in 5GB and 10GB form. It's one of the smallest MP3 players on the market. It hooks up via FireWire so it transfers at high speeds, and also charges through the cable. It can be used as both a MP3 player and a portable FireWire HD. Also, it has one of the best (if not the best) organization metheods out there. The way you set up your playlists and everything is amazing. Also, there is an adapter so you can charge it without a FireWire computer nearby. 10 hour battery. On the 5GB model, you can travel from NYC, to LA, and back without ever hearing the same song twice. The 10GB model is insane, but mainly for peeps who want the portable HD. Also can display your contact list from MS Entourage, Palm Desktop, or Mac OS X address book. Did I mention the nice sized screen and backlight? :) Only works on Mac. But I believe there are some programs that allow you to use it on Windows, if you have a fireWire connection. Best damn MP3 player ever made, only thing it needs is a FM radio. |

I too would suggest the iPod. It's a little on the expensive side but it's the best thing out there.
And IMO, spending anymore than about $70 on shoes is just plain stupid. So be careful how much you blow..er..uh.. I mean spend on the shoes if that's the direction you're pushing your money towards... If it were me, I would probably wait a week and think about my possible purchases, sometimes a week can change your mind and save you cash. And of course, there's always investing in stocks and bonds. :D |
I say get the shoes and the Game...hell, you might have money left over for 2 more games after that
|
Yes, gekko's  is right, the iPAQ isn't the best thing to hit the market.. but I could afford it, and it works (sucks batteries like nothing else).. so I'll keep it for now.
|
Yeah, one of my friends has the Apple iPod. It is amazing. He has the 5 GB one, I believe, and he has over 1,000 songs on it. I would love to get that, but I do not have a Mac computer, so yeah, that rules that one out.
And about the shoes, I think that I might wait until my foot is all healed up. This way, it can kind of be like a healing-present from my parents! Lol. |

Hmm, I have a lot of money but I don't know ho to spend it...gee, I'm in a real dilemma here... ;)
I wish had more Joeiss' "dilemmas" :D |
You bastard Joeiss!!! You're dilemma made me talk myself into getting an iPod, and I already had a Creative Labs Nomad II MG.
Oh well, can't complain about having a 10GB iPod lying around :D :D :D :D The new Weezer CD is also online too. w00ty w00t w00t! |
I've been thinking about getting an MP3 player.
|
I have one made by sensory science, im not sure the cost, it was a christmas present, but I know it wasnt over 150 bucks, and It holds at least 20 songs easily, with room for an expansion socket.

No, I had a Creative Labs Nomad II MG. I bought it 2 days before iPod was announced :(
And I've always loved iPods, I just was hoping it would also have a radio feature, and a mic on it like my other one did. But then I basically talked myself into how great they were, and next thing I know I was at CompUSA drooling over the store demo. Oh well. 353 songs on it, about 1/4 filled :D So much better than my 64MB Nomad II MG, which held 11 :) |

Oh, and you must be rich or something. If I ever went out and bought something expensive... Oh wait, I can't go out and buy something expensive. :( I just have this whole dilema thing because I haven't bought anything new since NBA2k2. |
My MP3 player can only hold about 11 songs as well.. it's a 64 MB card. I have a slot for another card, but the cards cost more than a new iPAQ would..

After getting iPod, you realize what an MP3 player SHOULD be like. Using it with a Mac, you organize your MP3s in playlists in iTunes and everything. Plug in your iPod, and they all automatically copy over. You can also just do certain playlists, and stuff. Then when they change, your iPod will change with it. Right now I have every single CD i own on there, with nearly nearly 6GB of space left. It's perfect. Everyone should buy a Mac and iPod, you will thank yourself later. |

::Jin gets Joeiss even more confused:: Hehe...:p |
Damn you gekko! If I wanted to just get another 64 MB card, (it has to the made by Compaq ) I would have spent enough money to by 2 new MP3 players.
God.. I can't wait until I have enough money to get a Mac.. I have about 1k in the bank so far.. I'm getting there.... |
Hehe. Just buy it with the lowest possible amount of RAM, and head to CompUSA and buy it. You could potentially save hundreds. But if you want to plan better...
Buy a 10GB iPod from CompUSA, and then buy a membership to the Game Fixx thingie for $50. It will save you 10% on your iPod purchase, so you basically get it for free, and also you can save 10% on (mostly) everything in the store for a whole year, and get a year subscription to IGNinsider for free. Then head back to CompUSA and you can save 10% on your RAM purchase, and all Mac software you buy. |

I wish that there were Best Buys here in Canada. :( |
Best Buy? Oops, meant to put CompUSA. But I doubt you have those either :)
