Re: 6 degrees of motion
now you can appreciate about 25% of what Wii delivers with gameplay.... added to that a graphically immense powerhouse...
we love Sony for bringing gameplay and graphics together this generation (lol.. hehe) If I had to say.... Xbox 360 = graphics Nintendo Wii = gameplay PS3 = graphics & gameplay :P [exit fanboy] |
Re: 6 degrees of motion
in all honesty tho, it is a bit more then the gameboy one, i think the gameboy just read tiling up and down and left and right? the ps3 controller does i think slantways and also knows up and down movments without tilting it at all.
its still taking thier idea, but sony never claims to be the innovation leader. |
Re: 6 degrees of motion
i never heard phil or ken say 'Look at what we've CREATED!'
|
Re: 6 degrees of motion
to be fair, they did create it...they didnt cook up the concept, but Sony built whatever custom tech is in the PS3 controller
I suppose nobody other than Apple is allowed to make a portable, HDD-based MP3 player? |

Along the same line, the ps3 controller basically shares the function of the analog attachment for the wii. |
Re: 6 degrees of motion
You have to love the "...isn't this the coolest thing?" at the end.
Yeah right. |
Re: 6 degrees of motion
"Don't you just love surprises, isn't that the coolest thing?"
 I think you can hear the audience laughing, probably at Sony. |

what does that have to do with this? that sony will fail miserably? in that case, you guys should all be HAPPY |
Re: 6 degrees of motion
Why does,
"Don't you just love surprises, isn't that the coolest thing?" seem funny and the crowd laughing AT Sony? You guys are trying seriously TOO hard.... Couldn't it be possible that maybe, just maybe... he said that because no one was expecting the controller to be able to do that? Everyone had expected a new controller that wasn't the boomerang but a new design as well? Well revealing that the PS3 controller would be the traditional DualShock with wireless support and motion sensing technology is a bit of a surprise to me, and I loved that surprise... and it is the coolest thing. It doesn't have to mean, 'Oh don't you love how we come up with the coolest things and and surprise you all with this fantastic new technology?' Maybe he should've taken into consideration fanboys misinterpreting his statements and said, "Don't you just love how we've surprised you with this new controller? I know you all thought it would be a boomerang or a new concept" instead he chose to paraphrase that and in the end it bit him in the ass cuz fanboys want to believe he is taking credit for the sole technology of motion sensing and believes the technology is such a surprise. Get over it guys..... |
Re: 6 degrees of motion
The Creative series has had a decent run along side Apple.

Re: 6 degrees of motion
You guys complaining about the Nintendo fans, you don't think it's funny at all that the guys from Sony, during their conference, essentially said that the Nintendo Wiimote is a gimmick, then an hour and a half later revealed their new surprising version of the Wiimote was somehow not a gimmick?
Can you imagine a friend of yours doing that? If a friend of mine pulled some sleazy bs like that I'd laugh my ass off at him. I don't even know how to argue this, it's so obvious that Sony deserves to be lampooned. |

Ok, now, I'm quoting here... "We're not about cutting corners to rush a product to market, and we're certainly not interested in gimmicks, clever rhetoric, or conventional thinking." ie. Microsoft, and Nintendo. http://www.vgpro.com/file/15560_e306..._800k.wmv.html Thank the gods it's in the first five minutes. |
Re: 6 degrees of motion

how was I being angry? you're the one saying 'Jesus' my point about Apple was a reference to the topic at hand...a contribution to the forum, if you will. it had NOTHING to do with success or failure...I assumed that your reference had to do with "well companies can copy but they have proven not to succeed" because that, y'know, would have actually meant something... |

Hahahaha... nice. I'm not sure why Ridge Racer being repeated like that is so funny. That voice he has... And I only watched the first five minutes of the conference. |

No, I own Kirbys Tilt and Tumble(great game, BTW) and I can assure you that it detects slant ways tilts as well. The Playstation controller is absolutley nothing more that Kirby was. When you really think about it Sony didnt really copy Nintendo, because the Wii's controller can do so much more |
