Dyne wins a cookie!

Re: Dyne wins a cookie!
He also confirmed some functionality with Revolution.

Re: Dyne wins a cookie!
That's really inconvenient. I set aside my entire summer for this and now it's not arriving until fall? Well, too bad for Nintendo. I'll be busy with school. No time for lousy games.
|
Re: Dyne wins a cookie!
Damn :( But I guess in the end it makes sense........
|
Re: Dyne wins a cookie!
Looks like I'll be selling my cube now then. I hope I can get more than $5 for it.
|
Re: Dyne wins a cookie!
I wanted to have it this summer because that is the only time i'm going to have to play video games from now on.
|
Re: Dyne wins a cookie!
I highly doubt it will live up to everything it's supposed to be.

Well, I just mean when something is set to release, and in development for so long, it rarely ever lives up to the hype. Ever. And the fact it will be out for the Cube, during the time when the next gen will actually start to take off is sort of odd. That would be like releasing a much anticipated SNES game well after the N64 is on the shelves. I look at this Zelda game how I look at the new Final Fantasy game that comes out. They've both been put off for a while, and pushed back. And since they will be released so late, I just dont think it would make the impact it would if it was released sooner. But I guess by releasing in the "fall" (they put it in quotations, because its obviously going to be released in teh winter) they can hope to sell more copies thanks to Christmas. |
Re: Dyne wins a cookie!
If they want to add Rev functionality to it also, release it at the "end" of the GC's life so that it seems like a semi-launch title for Rev. Unlike GC or N64 or SNES, this is the first true backwards compatible system for Nintendo which means they can do something like release the GC zelda late.
and Bond, usually Nintendo delaying a game makes it better ;) |
Re: Dyne wins a cookie!
My God. I haven't played my GameCube in literally 10 months, and it looks like that won't change for another 8 or 9 months. How the hell can a company like Nintendo completely drop the ball like this? They better have some huge, HUGE, plans for Revolution, because the GCN has been a horrible disappointment.

Fine, sorry, I meant "winter". Meaning 'Christmas Season'. Much like they mean "fall". If they meant the fall, why say "fall"? Thats like saying: 'I'll come over to your house when I'm "done" my homework.' And yes, some games do live up to the hype. Thank you for recognizing there are special cases, much like anything. I wasnt singling out the Zelda franchise, I was making a blanket statement at any hyped up game saying they "never" live up the the hype. (Hey, I like using this quotation thing.) Do I need to "remind" you of PD:Z, Any Mario Party game other than the first 2, Any new Sonic the hedgehog game, Super Mario Sunshine, Any Duke Nukem/Quake game, Banjo-Tooie, Final Fantasy IX, Donkey Kong 64, Killer Instinct, any Turok game other than the first, the expansion for Fable, Halo 2, The Bouncer, Pokemon Snap, Pokemon Battle..dome...thing, Tekken 4, Kingdom Hearts, Luigi's Mansion, Sonic the hedgehog 3, Street Fighter 2, Cruis'n World, Yoshi's Story, Jet Set Radio Future, Prince of Persia 2, Metroid Prime 2, The Ratchet and clank series, The Jak and Daxter series, Max Payne, Star Craft: Brood War, Fight Club, Madden 06, That new crappy need for speed game, Spiderman 2, Starcraft 64, Marvel vs. Capcom, Def Jam: Vendetta, Virtua Fighter, Driv3r, Any Sega Gamegear game, Mech Warriors, Tony Hawk's Underground, Enter the matrix, Gran Turismo 4, ATV Offroad Fury, Burnout: Revenge, Dark Cloud 2, Suikoden IV, Destruction Derby Arenas, The Dynasty Warriors series, the eye toy, that waverace game for the gamecube. Should I list more games that didnt live up to "anything", or no? |
Re: Dyne wins a cookie!
Those games you mention: they didn't disappoint because they were delayed too long, they did because they werne't special games. :D

Yeah, I didnt clarify, (oops :-o ) I didnt mean those games were delayed, just didnt live up to the hype. |
Re: Dyne wins a cookie!
Starcraft 64 had hype? :D
|
Re: Dyne wins a cookie!
Your telling me people still got excited for Mario Party after the 2nd one?
but seirously, thank you for that lovely list, you have proved your point. All im really saying is, if any development team can possibly "live up to the hype", its the team that is currently working on Zelda. |

...no. Thats the exact opposite of what I meant, actually. :p |
Re: Dyne wins a cookie!
I disagree with some of your list...dick

Re: Dyne wins a cookie!
I dare someone to post a picture of a cookie. Since we have yet to actually see one.
|
Re: Dyne wins a cookie!
I sort of assumed someone was going to give him a cookie as a gift much like mine.

Re: Dyne wins a cookie!
I just realized he hasn't even responded to this thread. What is it with people not answering threads directed toward them?
|
Re: Dyne wins a cookie!
I'm not replying because I'm being modest about my totally correct prediction.
:sneaky: Also Jet Set Radio Future totally lived up to the hype. |
