I want to know the general feeling of which RPG you guys feel was a classic in PlayStation's life cycle. Including PS2 If I've left one out and it was your favorite, then by all means mention it in a reply.

Well I'd have to say SUIKODEN is my all time favorite RPG aside from Chrono Trigger on SNES, but thats not PlayStation so in this thread Suikoden would be my most favorite.

A very compelling storyline, with rich 2d graphics (at the time) and a soundtrack that had the perfect composition to set the mood in all of the hundreds of places you would be in the game.

Chrono Cross. It's my favorite game of all time too.

Great Story, AMAZING Soundtrack, beautiful graphics and locations, and awesome characters.

Whenever I think about playing that game, a little smirk grows on my face.

I would say FFX, Because it's the first one (Besides 7) that I actually really got "into".

I think the one I played the most and actually beat was Chrono Cross. FFIX is a close runner-up because my name, Dyne, came from it, somewhat.

The Chrono port on PS1 wasn't worth it. Those damn load times.

By the way, if Chrono Trigger was on that list, you better believe it would get my vote, hands down.

I think it was the very first RPG that I beat. As far as I can remember, anyways.

If your referring to the SNES one... they are the same game, just added Video animated cutscenes on the PS..

Suikoden III wins for me.

Followed closely by Final Fantasy 7 and Tactics.


Dyne lent me Suikoden and I'm playing through it right now and really enjoying it.

i voted FF7...chrono trigger would be in close second and i haven't played chrono cross....i don't think i did anyway.
