Re: I heard Macho man died
That's pretty sad. : (
Didn't Eddie make it with Chyna? That's got to count for something. |
Re: I heard Macho man died
We should all "snap into a Slim Jim" as a sign of respect.

I ate five Slim Jims today before ever hearing of this news. An act of fate? The winds of truth say, "Yes."

Re: I heard Macho man died
Where'd you read about macho man? i didn't see that anywhere.

Re: I heard Macho man died
Wow, I didn't hear about Eddie before this. That is pretty sad news. I must say, I never liked his character all that much, but he was still a good entertainer. RIP Eddie.

Eddie Guerrero had a long history of drug abuse before he finally shaped himself up and got help, but it looks like time caught up with him. R.I.P. to one of the best performers in the game. Unfortunately drug abuse and wrestling seem to go hand in hand. These guys take a lot of damage in their careers, and it can lead to painkiller and sleep medication addictions. Mix those with a lifestyle that involves a lot of travel and the partying that goes along with it, and you have yourself a lot of premature deaths from mixing alcohol with prescription drugs. Jake "The Snake" Roberts is an excellent example of what the business can do to you if you let it. He was once of the the greats. Now he is a drug and sex addict traveling from podunk town to podunk town trying to scrounge a living. His segment in the documentary "Beyond the Mat" is chilling and even hard to watch at times. The wrestling industry needs to be regulated better. WWE stars don't need to be wrestling 3-4 times a week in front of non-TV audiences. The money for "house shows" is minor compared to that of TV and PPV and the schedule literally destroys the lives of those who love wrestling the most: the wrestlers. EDIT: Found an excellent MV tribute to Eddie. It tales a while to load, but its very well done and worth the wait if you're a current or former fan. http://www.users.on.net/~jpride/Vide...ese_dreams.wmv |

Nothing can kill the Macho Man.
Nothing. Also see: Hulk Hogan |
Re: I heard Macho man died
The only thing that can kill the Macho Man is a severe "Oh yeah" off with the Kool-Aid man.
But even last time that happened, The Macho Man prevailed. I remember I used to be into wrestling when I was like...6 or 7. Back when it was actually entertaining to watch. Back when the WWF had competition, so they actually had to strive to improve their product. But now, with buying out all the other competators, they can do this male ***** bull**** drama stuff. Plus, I dont watch wrestling at all really anymore, but I can sort of tell that the "talent" is running dry, when they have to bring bak former wrestlers from about 10 years ago or more to try and make some noise. The only current star that I've caught while flipping by that has actually entertained me (out of ring, with words, not in wring with sweaty hugging) is John Cena. He said something like "*Points to the Big Show* And if need be.....He'll eat someone." It made me laugh. Anyways, I really dont care for wrestling at all. And never really cared for Eddie Guererro. But its still a letdown he died. |
Re: I heard Macho man died
Most people never really got to see how good Eddie was. Having to put on that accent was an embarrassment, along with the whole "Latino Heat" thing. In his prime he was one of the best ring workers ever. His Black Tiger stint in Japan is legendary.
But hey, I'm a wrestling geek. I don't expect most people to understand. |
Re: I heard Macho man died
Typhoid, you liked wrestling right up till you were 12/13.
I remember. You did the moves on me. |

Just because I liked injuring you and your little brother speaks nothing of wrestling. I like smashing things with bats, and tackling people. Yet I do not like baseball, or football. |

Re: I heard Macho man died
I remember watching wrestling when Rocky Maivia or The Rock was just an upstart. The Rock really opened some doors for comedic role players during tv events. I kinda fell off as Rock went on to movies.
But last night as the clock turned 9pm EST... I was thinking about tuning into RAW just to see what had gone down.... but inexorably.... I was engrossed in playing Raven Shield w/ my clan. I couldn't pick up the remote and turn on RAW... but I had a gut feeling I should've tuned in. I come on the forums today to find out Eddie died, and a rumor about Randy dying? Dang... talk about gut feelings.... Rest in peace Eddie...I dunno about Macho man yet... |
