iTunes 6
1 Attachment(s)
Has anyone else downloaded/upgraded to iTunes 6? If so does your video section work? I simply get a black screen when I try to go to it.
|
Re: iTunes 6
from the home page just look on the menu on the left side and you can click on music videos, tv shows, pixar, etc..
|
Re: iTunes 6
Mine stays blank also. Yay for Apple and probably rushing this :p
|
Re: iTunes 6
pfff, never been a big fan of iTunes, ever since i've gotten my ipod.
|
Re: iTunes 6
Ya, works perfectly.
You need to add videos to your library, just like a song. If you already had videos, it should already be in there. |
Re: iTunes 6
You need to check the system requirements before you download the world's #1 computer music player. Maybe your computer can't handle the video.
|
Re: iTunes 6
There's something wrong if my computer can't handle videos from iTunes o_O
|
Re: iTunes 6
Did you update to QuickTime 7.0.3? My videos played from the moment I installed, but that message did pop-up.
|
Re: iTunes 6
I also get a black screen...anyone figured this out yet?
|
Re: iTunes 6
i must be missing something... i dont see where the problem is...
i click on videos in itunes... it comes up with a black screen.. i click file and add file to library (or add folder) and it comes up with lists of the files along with screens of the video in that black screen. seems to work fine to me. *shrug* |
Re: iTunes 6
Ah. So I see. Nice.
|
Re: iTunes 6
BTW, theres also a button in the upper right to turn it into a normal list view (faster)
then in options if you select hide artwork, then its even faster yet. :) |
Re: iTunes 6
I'm an iTunes expert. :)

Re: iTunes 6
I'd like to know how to change the catagory of my videos. Right now they are all under 'movie', while most of them are music clips.
BTW, does it play DivX? I guess not, since it didn't add that to the library. Is there a way to get the video files out of the music library? I don't want to get them mixed up with audio files. I noticed that there is now a option 'type' (video or audio). Oh yeah, why is my version in Dutch? I don't want it in Dutch, I'm used to it in English. Do I have to reinstall the thing again, or is there a language option? |
Re: iTunes 6
My brother just got an Ipod Nano. Its pretty cool. I havent added any pictures to it yet, but im curious as to how they will look on it. The album covers look nice though.

Re: iTunes 6
Is there a way to NOT play movies in iTunes? In a few weeks, I've come to hate it. Thanks.
|
Re: iTunes 6
yes... you um. dont play it in itunes.
im not getting the question here, theres hundreds of video players out there, why would anyone have to use 1 ? |
Re: iTunes 6
I think the question was supposed to be: is there a way to not have itunes as the default video player?
I don't know the answer because I haven't explored itunes much yet. But I am guessing that is what you meant Canya... |
Re: iTunes 6
hrm
to turn it off as the default player, might be somewhere in options.. or another player when you run it might ask to make it the new default.. or even right clicking a file and selecting Open With... choose program, and when you select the program, check the box that says always use this program to open this type of file. |
Re: iTunes 6
I don't have it as default player. I just have a lot of videos in the iTunes library.... So when I put it on random, it can play those movies. I could manually delete all the movies from it, but the next time I add a whole map (my shared folder, I find that the best way to add my newly downloaded music), it also adds the videos (a couple aren't properly grouped).
There is a solution, but I just DON'T want iTunes to have videos in it's library. I tried an option, but it didn't work. Or should I just go back to version 5.x? :) |
Re: iTunes 6
Just make a playlist that contains only your audio files and play from that. That's what I do. That way, I don't get anything I don't want if all I want to do is listen to tunes.

Re: iTunes 6
The video player in Itunes does suck. Badly.
|
Re: iTunes 6
I tried downloading quicktime (new version), and it comes bundled with Itunes. Is there anyway of downloading quicktime separately??
Sorry to branch off topic |
Re: iTunes 6
im pretty sure there is.
even if they dont have a seperate download tho, couldnt you download the package and either... A. tell it to only install quicktime or B. install both then uninstall itunes leaving quicktime on? |

Re: iTunes 6
Question:
I ripped a CD, but (for the first time) the sound isn't very good quality. It's recorded too loud or something, making some loud sounds 'crackle'. I'll try to rip it again, but I'm pretty sure I have to change some options. Any idea which ones? :) |

Use dbPowerAmp to rip CDs or to convert your audio files. www.dbpoweramp.com If you don't have an iPod, I see absolutely no reason to use iTunes. |
Re: iTunes 6
The bitrate is already good enough, 192 kbps.
I once ripped with RealJukeBox, it was terrible. I never had problems with iTunes (until now). I'll just try to rip those songs again, see what's the problem. PS: Bube, you play guitar? Cool, I'm trying to learn that. |
Re: iTunes 6
dont use realjuke box.. infact, delete that and never mention it again. :p
itunes will work fine, you prolly got volume leveling or boosting on which is unneeded. you have itunes set as mp3 or aac? doesnt really matter altho i prefer mp3 because its compatable with everything, aac is more of apples own format. you honestly dont need 192, i usually use 160, 128 is the 'normal' that most people use. However thats not your problem. i'd try and check to make sure any volume leveling or editing is off. also, sometimes some people have the volume on the computer turned down, then the volume control on the external speakers cranked to make up the difference and that never sounds good. it should be the opposite, computer volume level turned up 100% and all control done with external. if you want other mp3 encoders, theres many good free ones you can get. personally i use Winamp, i like it better then itunes because it can do VBR mp3's while itunes cant. |
Re: iTunes 6
VBR = variable bit rate? That sounds great for small MP3 players....
I use MP3. I really don't hear the difference between 128 and 192, but since all the cool kids do it... :( I know about those sound level problems you mention. Sometimes I had a crappy DVD rip with too low sound, when you turn your speakers up, you get a lot of noise. Later I discovered you can buff the sound with the equalizer. :D I'm also pretty sure it's the boosting that's the problem. Thanks. :) |
