There'll be a theatrical trailer shown at TGS sometime this weekend.

Kojima for the win.

Still going at it, grey hair and all?

These screenshots seem to confirm the... 'insider information' PSM had in their latest issue... About MGS4 taking place in a sort of warzone as opposed to a straight-up sneaking mission...

I can't wait for better quality images and videos... Hopefully the animation is as top-notch as the graphics :>

Edit: For anyone curious, here's the short clipping from PSM (just arrived in the mail today)

Quote:

Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima is great at keeping secrets. However, his work so far on Metal Gear Solid 4 is evidently so good talk about it is spreading like wildfire throughout the PS3 developer camp. One source has described the game to PSM as "a cross between Rambo and Black Hawk Down," with Solid Snake plunged into the middle of a high-intesity urban war zone where artillery is taking out cover all around him and AI controlled "sidekicks" fight alongside him as if they were actual human-controlled characters. The new 3D camera will play a big role in surviving the tight quarters and constantly changing cover. Kojima has an update on the game planned for Tokyo Game Show, and PSM will be there to bring you all the details next issue.

Man, that's hot.

But I don't like Solid Snake with a mullet AND a moustache. This is wrong!

He should grow the full beard.

Or a soul patch.

Everyone needs a soul patch.

And mullets are just wrong on anyone. Anyone except Jaromir Jagr, or Captian Planet.

But he doesn't have a mullet...

If you take a close look at his head, you'll notice that the hair in the front is pulled back to keep it out of his face... Indicating that he has long hair all around, not just in the back...

I believe it was that way in MGS2 as well... Everyone called it a mullet, but they are all infidels!

Cut the man some slack!

Looks awesome. I'm intrigued at how it's going to be working with you in a warzone rather than in a stealth sneaking mission.

I'm still trying to figure out the Metal Gear storyline.

A lot of stuff in MGS2 lacked in the sense making department. I'm sure there's an explanation but man...

I see what DsH means about the antimullet. I still think He can pull it off though, only Solid Snake can.

On further notice, that's amazing his hairline isn't receding.

But seriously, MGS2 snake clearly had a mullet. The back hair was longer than the hair on top, which was wavy a bit.

What's with the eye patch? Is it robotic or something?

DeathsHand 09-15-2005 11:22 PM

Re: Metal Gear Solid 4...

Ok.... So before TGS, Konami announced something about Metal Gear Acid 2... Saying something about a key word being "Solid Eye"...

We later learned that this game would take advantage of some sort of... 3D device made for the PSP...

... The "patch" on Snake's eye says "Solid Eye"...

So either it's placed there as sort of a joke, or that patch is some sort of device he's using and he DOES still have both eyes...

It makes sense because I don't believe Solid ever lost his eye. Unless it happened after MGS2.

He didn't, that's why some people believed that it wasn't Snake... Some people thought maybe Big Boss was still alive... But his eye patch was on the other eye, so that wouldn't work...

Then people thought maybe Solidus... That would fit, because the eye patch is on the correct eye...

However now it doesn't appear to be an eyepatch at all :>

The first picture of the ones Null posted looks like it might be from the Eye Patch.

I thought that too, however I just watched the trailer and it turns out that infrared-esque view is coming from one of those walking mechs...

The trailer is here: http://65.110.55.90/mgs4.wmv for anybody interested...

Not sure how long that'll stay up...

You'll notice though that in the video he has his own scanner vision from the Snake Eye.

Looks like there is comic relief as well.

So I guess that rapid aging thing that happened to Solidus and Liquid happened to Snake as well. Wacky clones.

Yeah it is...

Also one of the figures on the artwork they released awhile ago looked like Naomi Hunter... who seemed rather knowledgable on that whole subject...

aaaand Snake has some sort of....... problem (almost seemed like a fox-die 'attack')... And does indeed inject himself with something to stop it...

So there's some speculation that this episode could actually feature the death of Solid Snake... Or at least the acknowledgment of the fact that his time is up... :O

And fanboys everywhere will shed a tear...
