Yep, I got it, it is great and beautiful... I feel like I am going to break it though, so I got one of those aluminum cases for it.

One question, how do I know which firmware I am currently running?

and crash, it tells you what version you have in the settings somewhere.

Yeah, I know it might be Japan only, but I'm waiting anyway. I'm in no rush to buy one right now.

I have to be honest, the PSP is one of the coolest things I have ever owned... problem is, it isn't because of the games... it's because of the Emulators, videos and audio.... UMD games are kinda like a side-added bonus!

hense the point of a portible MEDIA player. not a portable game system.

buying it for the games never once crossed my mind when getting it.

I think it's great for some games and the multimedia features, but why someone wants it for UMDs is still pretty mind boggling.

im asuming you mean UMD movies.

because im sure there are tons that want it for UMD games. :p

UMD movies would seem like a better idea is they cost saaaaay 10 bucks each...

But I've heard that the UMD movies have actually been selling surprisingly well in the US (like crap in Japan though)... And sooooo many random movies are being released on UMD.... Labyrinth? Ghostbusters 1? *scratches head*

killbill! if it was cheaper i'd pick up kill bill as my only movie. lol. but im not payin the price of it agian cuz i already own the dvd.

That's the problem. Any movie that I'd want as a UMD, I'd want as a DVD even more, and I'd just buy the DVD.

My thoughts exactly.

So I just buy DVD's unless I'm going on a road trip, and then I'll pick up a new UMD to watch.

I too, have submitted myself to the PSP. I have it loaded with Japanese firmware 2.0 and Pure Wipeout. One I pay the credit card bill, I'll be getting Lumines next. I was going to get those Pelican screen sheet covers but the Target sales representative suggested I not waste my money on them. He told me he didn't have great luck with them. I also want to get a 1G memory card but that'll have to wait. I'm very happy though, it seems like a great product.

Not to suggest I've dumped my DS. I hold it in the same high regard as I did when I first bought it. Now it just has a little brother. :)

I bought pelican screen protectors. They're good, aside from the fact everything has an ugly grain to it.

Still, I don't have to be anal about my screen anymore, which is a mental unburden now.
