Resident Evil 5 for PS3
Along with the string of announcements for sublicensing and licensing deals with developers and companies on the 2005 PlayStation meeting... this teaser came along and sparked a whole new interest in PS3 for me...

Re: Resident Evil 5 for PS3
the lighting in particular really jumped out at me. for a teaser, it's cool. gives you an idea of what to expect further down the road. running zombies?!

Re: Resident Evil 5 for PS3
mmmm, RE5
|
Re: Resident Evil 5 for PS3
the running zombies really freaked me out........ I got scared playin REmake for GCN and the Crimson Heads came a runnin' if you didn't burn the zombies you killed...
now they'll just have them there, no way of avoidin it.... But they had sorta runnin Zombies in RE4 no? |

The location appears to be yet another run down little town in some random country... And I'm sure it will lead to more ridiculous locations as the game progresses and you blast your way through scripted ambush after scripted ambush while wading through a joke of a story as a character with over-the-top baditude... I kinda miss the spooky mansion days of RE :< |
Re: Resident Evil 5 for PS3
I hope it's not as you say, DH. I hope they at least tie-in SOME type of story for the damn game. But yeah, I agree. RE isn't really a survival horror anymore... It's just another action game :P Oh well.

Re: Resident Evil 5 for PS3
Oh and the character in the game looks a lot like Chris Redfield from RE1...
![]() The shape of the head, the nose, and their hairstyle all look similar... Now all they need to do is give him a tough-guy voice and throw in hints of tie-ins to past games that never really go anywhere... |

Re: Resident Evil 5 for PS3
i heard the whole game is in the ruck-sack of a town, with lighting like that in every aspect of it. Also this town is supposed to be very tight nit, and there will be a bunch of houses to explore. I'd say thats pretty fricky...... like 28 days later where ... your in an empty city with a few survivors, and anywhere and everywhere could be running zombies....
Looking past what is mentioned, this game could end up to be one scary one. |

Re: Resident Evil 5 for PS3
Darren...... shut up. If you keep on copying and pasting quotes without looking beyond the beyond, then you'll never understand.
"Dark, after I saw it on the GameCube, I told you i wasn't going to get it" ~~~~~~Let me further explain... - I was disappointed in the game... in general. I mention GameCube because obviously it was exclusive at the time. I'm not even getting this game for PS2 @ Q4. RE5 looks A LOT better... lighting, setting, and enemies.... that explains my renewed interest in the PS3....... because I was just sitting here recently just waiting for 2006.... but now I"m pumped again. Geez... always on the attack... |
Re: Resident Evil 5 for PS3
Who are you trying to convince Sony... me, or you?
In all seriousness though, I don't understand how someone can dismiss RE4 and claim that they aren't even going to pick it up for a system they currently own, and then say that the next installment of the series is getting them pumped up for a later generation of systems. It doesn't make any sense. Yes, the game looks better. It does not, however, look ten times better, or enough of a change to make someone want to play it and not want to play the (very excellent) previous entry to the series. And don't use graphics as an excuse, because we know you're a PS2 fan, and that system is the weakest of the current three in regards to graphics. This shows that you have a legitimate love for gameplay over graphics (or you're just very loyal to Sony, one of the two). RE5 does not look that much different than RE4, and I'm sure they are just going to build on the successful game design they already had with that previous entry considering all of the critical acclaim it received. |

Edit: Strick, Capcom said that RE5 will play just like RE4, same control scheme and everything, so I dont see how you're going to like this game, since you didnt like the over-the-shoulder view from RE4. |
Re: Resident Evil 5 for PS3
Well, I've already seen the whole of RE4 and even played some of your game, so in all honesty, I've already experienced it. I'm pretty sure that now that I look at things, I'll probably want to pick up RE4 for PS2 just so I can say I didn't skip any.
But just know, I'm still a little disappointed in RE4..... I'm a fan of the classic urban survival horror. Tight nit spaces.... in a large building (Mansion, Police Dept, Raccoon City...). This installment placed you on an island, and it really strayed from Umbrella storyline which was a huge upset. I was really looking forward to RE4 until I found out that the storyl was a total spin off. Didn't like RE:Outbreak, Survivor, or Dead-Aim.....but to make darren happy... I'll pick up RE4 for PS2 and beat it so I can rightfully move on to 5. I'm tired of endless squabbles, I'm dropping this. EDIT: ALSO.... the real lyrics are Whoot there it is......... hence the origin of w00t the word. It meant Wow Loot in Diablo and Dungeons and Dragons. But often words are mispelled and created into a trend. source: wikipedia.com |
