If I'm paying....

If I'm paying $2.25 for a gallon of 87 octane gasoline, how much are you?

I've never seen gas prices this high in my 7 years of driving here in the Twin Cities. How much are you guys paying in your market? I'd hate to be driving a gas guzzling SUV or truck right about now.

It's been cheaper around my neck of the woods.

86-89 cents Canadian for a litre. That's really cheap. Usually it's been 95-102.

I miss when it was 29 cents.

P.S. Just get a load of England's gas prices whenever you think yours are high. I've heard it was $5 a gallon.

Its gonna be similar to the 1970's all over again. This time, except, gas prices go sky high, then US Auto Makers realize the complaints (again) of fuel efficient cars and finally get off their rich smoking asses and make them more widespread instead of charging alot for a car that SAVES gas.

My father went to buy a Smart car,

..and not only was the price really high, there was also a waiting list of several months to get one. Now that's pretty ridiculous.

Yeah, the industry is ready for a change.

Prices around here seem to be in the 2.25-2.30 range. But as long as my mom keeps shopping at Kroger I can get gas there and get 15 cents off per gallon. I just filled up for 2.14 yesterday...still rediculous, but it helps.

Actually... Prices are approaching nearly £1.00 a litre, making it nearly £4.00 a gallon, in turn making it between $7-8 (US) a gallon, lol!

It's 97 cents a litre where I live now. It's been mostly in the 85-95 range for quite some time now.

I would laugh if someone got into a crash with that thing. It would break.

I thought it would too, and I read up on it in both the brochures. Apparently the chasis is really, really strong. Everything will crumble except for the main area where you sit. They were pretty confident in it's design.

I'll stick with my beast of a truck.

(Not mine yet, but when I can legally drive, oh boy)

It's only $2.25? I miss being home.

It's $2.59 over here. Most I've ever paid was $2.78, a month ago.

Well, almost all cars are designed to crumble that way. In anycase, I would still doubt you would be able to walk away from that car in a high speed accident.

I didn't even know hummers had a diesel model.

And yeah, were I live everyone seems to own a truck or suv. There's a lot of rich hipsters around as well so I've seen quite a few of those smart cars.

Dunno, it seems irresponsible to drive a large truck when you don't really need it.

I don't know about the H2 or H3, but the H1 has always had a diesel. Doesn't really matter though, at least around here, diesel is more expensive than premium.

The prices around St. Louis are in the $2.25 area.

$2.55

fingersman 07-12-2005 02:16 PM

Re: If I'm paying....

I pay about $1.22 US (that's $2.45 in my currency) for a litre, I'm thinking of getting a Bic and ride to places that are two or three miles away. But yeah gas prices are getting a bit to high and it might rise to $1.50 US down here. :(

Happydude 07-12-2005 02:53 PM

Re: If I'm paying....

how many litres are in a galon anyway?

fingersman 07-12-2005 04:30 PM

Re: If I'm paying....

About 2 or 3 litres make a gallon I think, but I could be wrong.

1 Gallon = 3.79 Litres

1.22 X 3.79 = $4.62 US dollars for a Gallon of gas for fingersman

And I thought I had it bad. You're paying double of what I'm paying.

Re: If I'm paying....

My Prelude SH only takes 93 octane and I pay up to $2.80 per 9/10's...

last month I could fill it up for $25 now, it takes $30 give or take.

gekko 07-13-2005 03:01 PM

Re: If I'm paying....

How does a Prelude take 93?

MuGen 07-13-2005 03:35 PM

Re: If I'm paying....

I dunno if I'm supposed to know the answer to that but the user manual said that it should be filled with 91 or higher octane, and the gas stations here supply 87 regular to 89 plus to 93 super.

Stonecutter 07-13-2005 03:45 PM

Re: If I'm paying....

Today in Cook County it's 2.45/2.55/2.65 for 87/89/93.

I would strongly support additional 25 cent per gallon tax on 93 octane. I would also love to see a progressive rate on gas so that you pay more when buying more. It's time to seriously ****hammer these dopes driving their SUVs running on prem'o with their 30 gallon tanks. Just wait till world wide production peaks in the next 10 years or so, then the fit is really gonna hit the shan.

Prices in germany were in the 1.20 Euro/Liter range so that's like what? $6 US a gallon?

MuGen 07-13-2005 04:43 PM

Re: If I'm paying....

I don't drive an SUV and your gonna stick a tax on me cuz my prelude gets 93? There should only be a tax for bigger tank cars.

Yeah! What the hell is up with that? Diesel was always cheaper than Gas and it's less refined.

I was thinking the exact samething. Anyone have an answer? If not I could go try to look it up...
