Actually the quote should be "No, I am your father", right?
Edit: yes, I checked it. Most people think it's "Luke, I'm your father", but it's "No, I'm you're father":p And that was cool to read. Only knew about 7 quotes though. :( |

This isn't "The Quotes Most Used By the Mass Populace," but the greatest movie quotes of all time. Just because you hear more people quoting The Matrix more often doesn't change the fact that people still know quotes from Casablanca (even without knowing they're from Casablanca) 60 years after the movie's release.

Dyne, I'll concede your point if you can prove to me that people are going to remember any lines from The Matrix 60 years from now. Being as what nearly everybody remembers from the movie is a shot of Neo falling backwards while the camera revolves around him rather than any particular line, I find that somewhat unlikely. The most memorable line of the movie is, "Whoa..." for crying out loud. You think people are going to be quoting that to sound cool a few decades from now?
Besides, the sequels have sort of tainted The Matrix in the pop consciousness. Anyhow, I'm glad to see that Inigo Montoya's immortal three lines were at least nominated. But I'm a little confused by the Pulp Fiction quotes. To be honest, I don't remember those. The lines I remember are, "Ever had your ass beaten to a soundtrack?" and "Zed's dead, baby." Hell, I remember Samuel L. Jackson describing his wallet better than those two quotes. |
