Paper Mario thousand year door. New 19.99 Sounds like a helluva deal to me, ive been wanting to get this one. |
Re: Saw a good deal...
Awesome deal. If I had the spare cash, I would get it :(

Re: Saw a good deal...
Meh, I can't even stand watching my brother play it.
But if you liked the original Paper Mario, I'd say go for it. |
Re: Saw a good deal...

How can you say it sucks? It got Gamecube game of the year from Gamespot, and im pretty sure it recieved very high scores from pretty much all major reviewers. Square is a very over-rated company, IMO. |

Re: Saw a good deal...
I've played all three of the Mario RPG type games, and yes, I do like the style of the first better in some ways than Paper Mario.
But Paper Mario was really excellent, if not nearly so excellent as PM:TYD; and of course neither are as good as the original Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars.. They're not the same type of game, and I think a lot of us were hoping for a true sequel to the first. But if you accept that it's not going to be the same type of game, and play it for what it is, I came to find that both PM and PM:TYD are both insanely great games. The comedy (particularly in Thousand Year Door) kept me laughing for a long time and I've played through it 3 times, which says something for a game these days (at least for me). And as much as I want a sequel, I think that another Paper Mario game, this time for the DS, would be incredibly cool. I think the touch screen could really add a new dynamic to the game. Think about this: Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars will probably be playable on Revolution. If that's true, then maybe they'll make a sequel to the game on there. Just my two cents. |
Re: Saw a good deal...
Awesome...I've been wanting this, but never wanted to pay 50 dollars for it. Nice find. I'm going to EB soon and I'll pick it up if they have it for that price.

Re: Saw a good deal...
Well since this forum is rediculously dead, I just thought I tell a little about Paper Mario. So far, this game is GREAT. To be completley honest, I was never a huge fan of the origional for the N64, but like I said I couldnt pass up that deal from EBgames, and the reviews for it are stellar. Let me say, well worth the 20 bucks, no doubt. Im allready over 4 hours into the game, and I just got the 1st of 7 stars needed, so at that rate it looks like I'll get 28 hours of gameplay out of it. Not saying it will definatley take that long, but its certaintly feeling like a LONG game so far. Anyways, ive quickly grown to love its simple, yet still quite deep RPG fighting system, and when you level up, its actually rewarding, unlike some other games. LOTS of text and story telling in this one, so dont expect non-stop action by any means. But its all very well done. Oh, and so far the platforming/puzzle solving elements have been awsome. Id fully recommend picking this one up if you havent played it yet and are looking for something to play on that gamecube, that I know has been collecting dust as of late....

Re: Saw a good deal...
Wish I could've picked it up. For $19.99 it is well worth it, but unfortunately those bastards would only ship to U.S. addresses. The game is selling USED for $54.99 at my local EB, that is just beyond insane. If anyone else sees a deal like this happen again, be sure to let me know so I can work something out.
Oh, and this may have nothing to do with Nintendo or the GameCube, but Metal Gear Solid 3 is now selling for $19.99 at EBgames.com for a limited time. It is so worth that price, it's not even funny. |
Re: Saw a good deal...
Well, I don't know what all the Paper MArio hate is for.
I don't know, maybe because I don't have an affliction for Square-Enix or their made up characters, but I don't like Mario RPG. Paper Mario on the other hand, I love both of them. And would kill for Mario and Luigi. Its a great game for 20 bucks, I would pick it up iof didn't borrow from friend and run through about 90% of the game already. |
Re: Saw a good deal...
Same here. I think I'll get the Donkey Konga 2 game and then the other two.
