Re: NEW Revolution pics
Maybe the "Revolution" is the fact that its slanted? :sneaky:
|
Re: NEW Revolution pics
its just sitting on a slant, not slanted itself.
However.... controller/memory card slots on the Side of it? or ontop when its standing tall? dont like that much. |
Re: NEW Revolution pics
Im thinking the revolution might be the multiple colors.
It is sleek though. |
Re: NEW Revolution pics
God I love it.
It's like the Panasonic Q mixed with the PS2! With a side of Turbo-grafx 16. So hot. |
Re: NEW Revolution pics
I feel strangely attracted to the lime green. Like the girl that peaks your interest but whom you would never date.
|
Re: NEW Revolution pics
Well, I may be mistaken but does the controller and memory card port look like the Cube's to anyone else?
Also I think the console looks much better laying down. It just radiants more. And the black, white, silver and red look good. Ditch the green. |
Re: NEW Revolution pics
The logo on the console itself is horrible... it looks like Incognito's logo..
Aside from that the console looks really nice. I have to agree with Null though... Controller ports on the side or the top.... doesn't appeal to me. I'd rather have them wireless, or in the front of the console. Thats just me though.. I like the variety of colors... I wouldn't mind a red Revolution to sit beside my white PS3... :D |
Re: NEW Revolution pics
The controller ports are for playing GameCube games on it. The Revolution controller is that much different.

and i agree with you the console looks much better lying down. lying down it looks very nice. i think it looks flat out ugly standing up, in that stand that makes it slant like that. |
Re: NEW Revolution pics
Wheres the midnight blue one?
Anyway, all those look pretty swell... all but the lime... |
Re: NEW Revolution pics
Ooh, red one is nice. It's the perfect companion for the Nintendo logo.
|
Re: NEW Revolution pics
Oh man, that system is so hot! I like it better lying down. Slick!
|
Re: NEW Revolution pics
Eh, not bad. I agree with Null though, much better lying down then upright.
|
Re: NEW Revolution pics
As much as I dig Nintendo, I'm not feeling the look of the Revolution much. It seems confusing. It's like, the controller sockets are in the front, while the game disc slot is on one of the sides?
|
Re: NEW Revolution pics
It's the swiss army knife of consoles. They haven't shown where the corkscrew and tiny tweezers are hidden yet.

I'm looking forward to a white console.. I hope they make white ones... |

Re: NEW Revolution pics
But that doesn't mean they'll actually make it. :)
I expect that the ports on the side are only for backwards compatibility. Although I hope it has a HD. Very nice design. |

I shall call it.....the Turbo Panastation Q-16. |
Re: NEW Revolution pics
I would still buy it if it was called that.
|
Re: NEW Revolution pics
If anything, that would make me buy it more.
I was just about to send you the link too. You crafty quick bastard. |
Re: NEW Revolution pics
Where do the GC games go? Whats going to prevent me from sticking a GC disc down the left side of the disc slot?
|
Re: NEW Revolution pics
I guarantee it would help sell consoles if they call it Nintendo 365.
Microsoft decided on Xbox 360 and THEN made up some stupid theme about the gamer being at the center or whatever. With the Nintendo 365 you can talk about how every day belongs to the gamer or some stupid sh#t like that. Consumers are like sheep. |

He's asking if he sticks a GCN disc into the big blue slot-loader, what prevents it from getting the GCN disc stuck... small discs like that need either a fitted slot loader or a small tray loader... |
Re: NEW Revolution pics

And besides Nintendo said that both discs would go into the same drive... |
Re: NEW Revolution pics
I know that, but what I'm saying that because the GC disc is smaller than the discs they are going to be using for the Revolution, whats going to prevent me from sliding the GC disc in at the wrong spot or how is that part going to work where it centers the GC disc correctly?
|
Re: NEW Revolution pics
It's a slot loading drive, all you have to do is slide it in the center and the machine will correctly align it. My iMac does the same thing. I think there's only a small section of that blue strip where a disc will actually be accepted. If you try to shove it in near the side, it won't work. If I hear one more person critisize Project Revolution's architecture, I'm closing the thread and banning the offender.

quite possibly they may add like little guides to insert your GCN disc at a certain spot... |

Re: NEW Revolution pics
Well, a lot of you already get it, but there seems to be some confusion about the controller/memory-card locations. The system contains 512 MB of flash memory to be used for game saves. On top of that, you can also use SD flash cards that will probably insert into the slots on the side and you'll still be able to close the little door.
As for discs getting stuck, I really don't see it as an issue. Gamemaster just gave his iMac up for example. Think of there being little metal bars in the tray. I'll number them. [-1-2-3-4-5] If 2, 3, and 4 are pushed, it will accept the GC disc and slide it to the proper location. If you try to push it in the side ones, it won't let the disc go in because it has guards to prevent it. If you push in a standard DVD then 3, then 2 and 4, then 1 and 5 will get pushed and it only accepts the disc as these increments are observed. |
Re: NEW Revolution pics
Do we download these retro games onto the 512MB memory?

Re: NEW Revolution pics
Hm, I guess we can't complain, but I'd still have loved a HD.
2048 NES games or 256 SNES games or 64 N64 games. Hm that's not that bad. :) But remember, you also have to save your revolution and GCN stuff on that card. Quote:

Re: NEW Revolution pics
What I remember seeing is that games ranging from Donkey Kong to Super Mario Sunshine would be downloadable. It may imply "only Nintendo games," but I think it's intended to imply "only games on previous Nintendo consoles."

Nintendo's patched things up with third parties this last generation, so they'll have no problems asking permission to use really old games. |
