Soul Calibur 3 PS2 Exclusive
First seen here http://www.cube-europe.com/news.php?nid=7552
and on IGN http://ps2.ign.com/articles/598/598424p1.html Disappointing news to GC/Xbox owners. Kind of weird they would exclusive it on PS2 considering the 'Cube version sold more. But oh well. I probably wont be missing much with SC3 |

dood says he wants an unpresidented amount of content in SC3, wants players to be FULLY satisfied with this one game. They're putting in a FULL create character mode !!! yes! that was 1 of the 2 big things i was waiting for, being able to make up your own characters is going to be sweet. the other big thing im still waiting and crossing my fingers on, Online play. they had said after SC2 that they wanted thier next one to have online play. |
Re: Soul Calibur 3 PS2 Exclusive
Sounds great from that read but unless it hits a Ninty console, I dont have as much interest. Granted, its gonna sell but I just didnt see why Namco had to exclusive the game when its a 'series' that did VERY well on all 3 consoles. But I'm not in the business so I dunno :p

Anytime. If I was still into playing games, I would probably pick this up, just becuse of the create a character part. But you have to think, it can only be so extensive. You probably can't create what you want to create. And you have to assign combos and moves to every button and things like that, after a while, don't you think it might get a little tedious? Thats just me though. |
Re: Soul Calibur 3 PS2 Exclusive
all depends on how they go about it, some of the wrestling game create a character were absolutly amazing how much you could do. almost endless. the fight night series has an amazing face creation when creating characters but not so much selection elsewhere.
its quite possible they could do an amazing job with it. however anythings better then using the same characters over and over, always wondered why fighters never had create character modes in em. |
Re: Soul Calibur 3 PS2 Exclusive
I'll throw down some Soul Calibur III.
Oh btw, at SCII, Typhoid is a whore with Raphael. 17 straight wins. Good times. |
Re: Soul Calibur 3 PS2 Exclusive
I own Mitsurugi....

my friend used to whore raphael, then i became wonderful at defending against him because of it. :) infact its become so easy to stop raphael that none of us ever play him anymore. |
Re: Soul Calibur 3 PS2 Exclusive
I love fighting Ivy.... :)
|
Re: Soul Calibur 3 PS2 Exclusive
All about Talim, I kick Kyuzo's ass with her all the time...
|
Re: Soul Calibur 3 PS2 Exclusive
Yes with that ever so present Combo that's just so darn easy to do..... infact... not only easy to do, but easy to do a lot.....
I kicked your butt as soon as I went to Maxi.... |
Re: Soul Calibur 3 PS2 Exclusive
pfft. real men use the random character button anyway. :p
we always used to do the 8 vs 8 all randomly chosen. |
Re: Soul Calibur 3 PS2 Exclusive
Well I wouldn't say I use the Random character button, but I am a master of
In order of greatness: Nightmare Mitsurugi Kilik Maxi Yunsung and coming SCIII Hwang (my secret weapon) |

Re: Soul Calibur 3 PS2 Exclusive
If you use Random you know which character you'll be before battle. Charade shifts between rounds.
And I agree with Null... Dark Samurai :beerchug: Alternating between Talim and Link highly seems brave enough for the scours of Soul Calibur fighters. |
Re: Soul Calibur 3 PS2 Exclusive
I don't remeber where I read this but I heard that Dante will be the exclusive character. You may be wondering how they can do this, on account of how he is Capcom's property, but Capcom went to Namco and borrowed the SCII engine for a boss battle and in return they requested that they could use Dante for SCIII. I'll try and find the link. It might all be just specualtion though.

Jonbo actually means ":D", I recognize the same false sympathy that I often use. :)

Re: Soul Calibur 3 PS2 Exclusive
*scratches head*
no online play because "the online aspect would be unplayable for many gamers" :hmm: YOU MADE IT FOR PS2 ONLY!!! THATS CUTTING OFF A LOT OF GAMERS TOO! ah well. prolly wasnt going to get it anyway. :sneaky: |
Re: Soul Calibur 3 PS2 Exclusive
Dante would be sick on SCIII
|
Re: Soul Calibur 3 PS2 Exclusive
Another more promising update
Quote:
So its like good/bad news per se :p Good because it clarifies the reason for doing so (although a straight port wouldnt have hurt?). But at least for next-gen consoles it hopefully takes advantage of all 3 consoles in one way or another |
Re: Soul Calibur 3 PS2 Exclusive
yes, its at least good that they're brining it to them. but i just dont understand sometimes. an online mode for ps2 or xbox live is not a hard think to impliment. wouldnt take much time. and would make many many happy. and all they can say for why they're not doing it is not everyone will be able to play online? who cares. many of us could... bah i say. bah.
|
Re: Soul Calibur 3 PS2 Exclusive
I used to play against the 3rd best player in the country on SC II. I obviously sucked it up. He was a b**** with Nightmare.
I like Talim. And, as long as it comes out on the console I want, I will be happy. |
