Haunted NES system

it supposedly belonged to his son who passed away years ago.

I brought this System home, and on the first night of playing, about 10 minutes into the game, I began hearing sounds similar to human voices, mumbling to the background music of the television.

Naturally I thought it may have been static or something to that effect, or maybe it somehow interfered with a truck driver's CB Radio System, so I didn't pay much attention to it.

But it continued through-out the entire time I was playing, stop for a minute or two, then start again. It got to the point where I went really close to the TV, I paused the game to try to hear it a little better, but then it would get silent. When I would unpause it, there it would go again.

I know it sounded like there was a conversation going on but I couldn't make out any of the words.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Today was my grandpa's birthday party, and me, Me cousin, and "aunt" and my "uncle" (They arnt my real aunt and uncle, they are my moms step siblings) we all hooked up the NES, and played Mike Tysons Punch Out.

That game is as old as I am, yet it's still amusing.

But yeah, I think this is fake.

Re: Haunted NES system

What a lame story. Aside from the fact that the seller assumes a haunted NES is more desirable than a standard NES.

Why would his only reason be for cash? He set the auction for 1 penny with no reserve. The reason it's so high is because people want the NES system.

If you read the Q&A, one poster said the haunted NES was reported on several news magazines. I will be taking the photo and altering the highs and lows and contrast to reveal a bit more of the face, because I see some of it too....

Tools:
Auto Balance
Auto Contrast
Brightness Contrast Adjust
Hue/Saturation Adjust

Haha that's such a good joke.

There are times when i'm joking around, but enough is enough Cany.... I did only adjust the current photo, and thats what I got.

Take what you get from that photo... I believe his story.

EVP is a common phenomenon. Even coffee pots can act as receivers for random radio signals and spit out bits and pieces of voices. This guy is definitely trying to cash in on the latest "haunted item" or "i see jesus in my pizza" craze.

There was a Virgin Mary grilled cheese sandwich...

who, if you do desaturate, adjust contrast and artistic filter, you can find something too

MuGen 03-14-2005 02:51 PM

Re: Haunted NES system

Well I can tell you didn't desaturate the picture... because that adjustment is another word for Grayscale...

you adjusted the contrast to the fullest, cuz the red in the color is burnt. Also.... eww that is one ugly person on the system.

Re: Haunted NES system

Doesn't make sense anyway, what kind of pic is that? The NES is behind glass, it appears. A reflection in the glass, so what? That is if you think it's real.

I think it's just a photoshop job. :)

THE KID?!!! Do you not know Miyamoto when you see him? Disgraceful.

MuGen 03-14-2005 06:35 PM

Re: Haunted NES system

He's covered in photo grain... I couldn't see anything but a smiley person holding a gamecube..... guess some people are more obsessed with Miyamoto then others... :beerchug:

GameMaster 03-14-2005 06:37 PM

Re: Haunted NES system

If Kyuzo's and Crash's were real, we'd be seeing both apparitions from more of a top view in perspective with the angle of the NES.

Falsify'd!

This reminds me a lot of Fatal Frame II.

Man that game is sweet. Everyone should play it.

Haha, man I love people...Never cease to amuse.

By the way, it looks like the cat from Pet Semetary...

MuGen 03-17-2005 11:16 AM

Re: Haunted NES system

omg.... ya know, I think the haunted NES was real, but the cat's image is just so clear that I can't believe it. Besides, if its unaltered how does the SNES stand inside a white background?

Only after you take a picture can you slice the SNES out of it's original backdrop. Unless he found a perfectly white surface with no reflections to take the picture on.

Null 03-17-2005 11:30 AM

Re: Haunted NES system

the picture was cut out, you can see that just by clicking on it and looking at the poly shaped curves he did.

however, it is entirly possible to take a picture and have it a perfectly white background without altering it, all you need is a white sheet, lie it out, add bright lights all around it to eliminate shadows, and take a picture with a flash. Photographers do that all the time.

MuGen 03-17-2005 11:40 AM

Re: Haunted NES system

However, we both agree his picture is altered..lol

Null 03-17-2005 11:41 AM

Re: Haunted NES system

not a matter of agreeing, it just IS altered. :p shouldnt be any opinions on it, just a fact.

mwahaha...ehh....errr......right then. It's altered.

That haunted SNES doesn't even look a SNES, or at least nothing like the one I owned.

design was changed around the time the N64 came out to attract some more people. i think nintendo did it with the NES also. much like sony did with the PS and PS2

I have the same SNES version as the "haunted" one. :)

He cancelled the auction.

Yeah Nintendo released a top-loading design NES, which apparently is supposed to be a lot better than the normal front-loading one in the sense that it is immune to the mysterious blinking disease...

There are 2 models of Sega Master System, and 3 of Genesis!

Yay!

The Germanator 03-30-2005 08:59 PM

Re: Haunted NES system

The top-loading NES is better. I don't really remember the last time I played on a an old model NES, but the top-loader is pretty great. I'd say that 70% of the time the game works on the first try which is pretty great when dealing with NES games...

I had the old front-loader, replaced the 72 pin connector and it worked perfectly fine!!!!!

Until I bought a game that must've done something horrible like scratched the pins or something, because since I put it in it's very very hard to get the system to load with a screen that's not scrambled in some way...

But huzzah! I have purchased a top-loader off of Ebay...

I don't think we had those in Europe. :(
