A lesson you have learned in life?

Before you go and think something like "Jason1 dosent normally make intellectual bull**** topics like this", your very right, I dont. I need to do a project for my English 4 class(why I took English 4 is beyond me), but now im stuck with it and we've got this project. The details arent really important. Anyways, were suppoused to ask a bunch of people from a bunch of different age groups the same question...but im to lazy/ cool to actually do this, so Id like yunz member of tEh forums to give me a hand. Please keep in mind your answers dont have to be seirous, funny, or anything really...it dosent really matter. Anything is fine. You may be wondering, "Why dosent he just make them all up?" True, true, I possibly could, but hopefully this way it might seem like I actually did the project...at least more so than If I came up with a bunch of crap on my own, that would probably all sound similar.

Please post your age then your answer to the question: What is a lesson you have learned in life?

You can post your real age or pose as someone older/ younger. I need a bunch of age groups, so keep that in mind everyone. +rep will be awarded, and each and every one of you that participates will personally get a pat on the back by myself. Above all, though, Have fun! ;)

Re: A lesson you have learned in life?

From my POV...

Age 5: Don't 'overpull' the drawer. I lost a toenail and two months of my life (spent in agony...) because of that.

Age 10: Don't try to mediate a fight between 2 other 10 year olds. Particularly if they are boys (girls don't get vicious until they hit their teens). Did just that and spent the whole day crying because one of the little $#*!%& decided to slap me across the face.

Age 15: Don't be tempted to jump out of that window if life throws you around like no tomorrow. Things will get better. It did for me and I am glad I didn't listen to the window.

Age 20: That procrastination is the root of all evil. Not money, not greed, not lust, not women. Which is why I better go back to studying because I've got a Genetics exam on Thursday and I have 6 weeks of lectures to go through AND I'm still posting/browsing three different forums at once.

Not good at all...

ETA: I misread this post's title... I didn't see the bit where it said 'a lesson' :banghead:

Lesson learned:

Dont assume anything. Never. You'll only end up blowing things out of perportion in the end. You might make a forgotten phonecall into some massive argument at a later date. Or someone might do it to you.

Plus, Be yourself. Dont be anything to impress anyone. If you're not yourself, what are you accomplishing? You're letting people think you're different than you actually are, and in the end, you only hurt yourself.

Lesson Learned: Don't use shampoo.

...and, on a more *serious* note, I have a whole motto. It's not original or anything, and you hear people say it every once in a while, but meh, what the hell:

The only guarantee in life is death. Live each day like you are embracing your last.

Also, it's not worth worrying about tomorrow. Tomorrow will come, regardless. So why the hell get worried about it? Embrace tomorrow in the best way possible.

22 In one hour from the time this post hit the forum.

Lesson 1:
Quick reply sucks because for some reason tonight I keep hitting the go button and not the post reply button and I then proceed to lose everything I just typed.

Lesson 2:
Don't take seriously the things people say to bring you down. It's the opinions of your family and true friends that matter.

Lesson Learned: Don't let obligations consume your life. Put family and friends first. 100 years from now its not going to matter how long you studied for a test or what your GPA was.

Lesson: Always be faithful to whatever you are going into. Whether it be a relationship or a job. And if you want a translated version of half of that lesson..

Don't you dare cheat on the woman/man you love. No matter how sore things are going, the faith will always bring you closer to them.

Re: A lesson you have learned in life?

Okay, I know this may sound cheap and like i'm ripping it off, but this is so true.
Do not fear. Fear is the mind killer. [in other words, for me at least] if you're dwelling on some mistake/screwup you mae and keep thinking about it, things will only get worse. kinda like the whole Karma deal.
===Personal example ahead===
some A**hole of a kid was annoting me to death last year in HS. i kept saying each day[to myself] "don't let it get to you", but I did. It got worse because i thought about "what if it does get to me?" and "what will I do?" which pretty much lead to me having a bad year emotionally.
==end example==
If that doesn't help, then this will have to do:
Everyone that comes into your life has a purpose. you're either in their life to make them happy, or they're in their life to teach you some kind of lesson.
==another example==
today was my g/fs B-day. I was being a cheap***[but loving at the same time] by making her a tribute video set to "glory of love" and using photos from past events w/ us. I sent it to her last night, since she was kinda upset, and when she watched the video, she pretty much just went into goo. started crying happy tears..saying "I love you"..like it was the biggest thing anyone had ever done for her.
==end example==
the lesson here: your life can change another for better or for worse.

that's my 2 cents.

one of the most important things to do in life is smile....

smiles will do things for you that you can't imagine, no matter who it is at, or even if you have to force it, smile at everyone you possibly can.

Be happy

Fulfull your God given purpose in life through Christ.
And don't hate small beginnings. ( Trust me, if you knew that the person who dresses shabby, and looks geeky today, would be rich tomorrow, you wouldn't look down on that person today)
Oh and Love Jesus with all your heart!!:D

Honestly, I couldnt tell you whos I used, I used quite a few of em though. If yours was longer, I probably either made it shorter, or only used part of it.

And I no longer have a working scanner because Windows XP hates my old one.
