With the return of doubloons, it appears balance is retuning to our world again. :)

Who wants to be put in charge of explaining our age old currency to the very new members like Typhoid, etc?

It'll be much better than what we had before.

Notice how blazing fast the server is right now? Earlier it was dragging but now the load averages are 0.80 0.45 0.37.

Well, I'll make the story short on Doubloons.

Back in the day, people got things called Doubloons. Basically the currency of GameTavern. It wasn't very easy to get Doubloons but it wasn't insanely difficult to get them either. 100 here, 50 there, 25 for things. Random contests, ability to give anyone some of your doubloons.

With these doubloons, you could "buy" certain things. Examples are: Access into the Black Project, ability to get a custom title, change your rank for a month to whatever you want, etc..Some things were temporary, others permanent. Permanent ones cost more obviously but they were a nice addition.

Anyone else can add to this or correct any errors I may have made.

I paid someone (can't remember who) all of my dubloons to find a cool avatar for me. I didn't see the use of them at the time, so I didn't need mine.

Doubloons were only around when I first came here, and soon after I registered they were gone. I never really got to use them, so I think I'll have some fun with them
