Star Wars art returns

with a work in progress of dooku... this puppy is two feet by three feet so when i scanned it in, it took 4 parts... it is currently about half way done.... so if it looks off, those are the two reasons why....

coming soon, obi-wan, vader, qui-gon, padme, and anakin

old yoda if anyone remembers this from so long ago... (sux now in comparison...)

hopefully i can get them all done by may...

btw: tomorrow i have a job interview for a graphic designer, wish me luck!

Good luck, and the yoda one still rocks.

Good luck, hope they are as good as the Yoda one

Good luck. You've got some amazing talent, I wish I had better motor skills (and attention to details). Keep it up.

Re: Star Wars art returns

I think the Yoda one is just as good, Crash.

Now you got to give those pictures some color. If you're afraid to touch the real pieces, just color the ones you've scanned in.

Good luck with your interview, I'd like to see your portfolio and resume sometime.

You and Danchastu have mastered the art of drawing soulful eyes.

How much would I have to pay you for a C3PO?

Give me Padme!!! I want her...picture!
Great work, BTW. I never knew you had such talent.

Blackmane 01-28-2005 04:33 PM

Re: Star Wars art returns

The gollum looks like it will turn out really well. I can't wait to see the finished product.

Vader looks sweet!! Gollum looks awsome too!

Re: Star Wars art returns

ok, here is part of that anakin padme one i was telling you about... it is about 1/3 done... (the only thing done on this one is anakins leather tunic) and i'll be changing that too no doubt..

but since you guys said you like to see how a picture evolves, i'll show ya...

yes, textures are muddy and shades are off.. but that's cause its not done... you guys know what I mean, i dont have to explain myself.

Is the Vader one for sale? I'd really love to hang that one in my room.

Edit: Additionally, could I give you a screenshot from a movie and pay you to make me a picture from it?

yeah, that's easy to do.. as long as the picture is high enough resolution

canvas costs $10-$20 dollars depending on size, and shipping... (probably another buncha dollars, I live in 80918)

then the $$ per hour on my end....

send me a screen shot, I'll paint it, and see if you like if afterwords...if you wanna pay all that other stuff i'd sell it to you

this vader is going to a friend of mine who loves vader!

GameMaster 02-01-2005 02:57 AM

Re: Star Wars art returns

Alright, I'll get together some screenshots. And when I send them to you, I'll probably put in a request for a duplicate of that Vader piece. Thanks!

/me puts DVDs in the computer and captures his favorite shots

In terms of resolution, are you talking about on-screen or printed?

That Mace Windu looks awsome already.

I realy wish they would have featured him more than they did in the Star Wars movies.

Re: Star Wars art returns

Nice work. Are all the paintings done in acrylic? And the others...charcoal or conté or colored pencils?

Crash 02-07-2005 11:31 PM

Re: Star Wars art returns

everything you said cept colored pencils.

GameMaster 02-08-2005 12:03 AM

As previously stated, amazing.

I've almost gathered all my screens for you...

Hm you don't only draw nicely, also very fast. Drawings like that take me hours, spreaded out over several days/weeks. I rarely finish them BTW. :p

Here's a drawing of a friend that I never finished. I messed up the mouth and her left eye (for the readers right).

Oh, that Count Dooku looks a bit like Saruman!

Crash 02-08-2005 01:49 PM

Re: Star Wars art returns

see that's awesome... you should try using less standard graphite pencils, and trying using charcoal sticks, you'll be able to draw a lot faster, and they'll be a lot darker with more contrast... I dug up a lot of stuff I drew almost 10 years ago... I'll scan some of that stuff in later on today.... It was when I was a freshmen in highschool

Bube 02-08-2005 04:13 PM

Re: Star Wars art returns

Umm, Crash.. You forgot to draw Mace's ear. Just thought I'd point it out...

:p

Re: Star Wars art returns

Wow, just saw this thread. I had no idea you could draw, Crash. That's amazing... you are ridiculously talented. I've always wished I could draw, but I'm not artistically inclined and don't have the time to make myself get better.

BlueFire 02-27-2005 01:27 AM

Re: Star Wars art returns

Yeah, Dan asked my question already :] Conté crayons are fun.

You do great jobs with the values.

And the color is done well too. Unfortunately, I don't color very well, so i stick with graphite. :[

But I like to use watercolors as well.

Great job tho
