iTunes Problems

I've had iTunes for about a week now, but yesterday, it wouldn't work anymore, whenever i try to open it, it gives me this message:

"The iTunes Music Library file cannot be read because it does not appear to be a valid library file".... any help would be appreciated, thank you

Yeah. I don't know how it happened, but at any rate, the file that gives iTunes your list of songs and the mp3 locations are on your Hard Disk is damaged. So, try this.

Delete the file: C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\iTunes 4 Music Library.itl

Then reset your computer, launch iTunes, and rebuild your list of songs.

And if that doesn't work, just try downloading it again from Apple.

Yeah, there was an update released this morning anyway. I haven't looked at the new features yet.

Or, you could download Winamp, and forget the garbage background running programs, 20+ meg usage on your memory, inabilaty to change your vizualization, and other flaws. I cant say im a huge Itunes fan.

Use what you like. I can definately spare 20 megs of RAM for better visualizations, a better interface, better Radio options, easier ripping and burning, among other things.

I personally think anyone that sits and tunes out in front of their computer staring at visualizations needs help. And 20 MBs really shouldn't be a problem unless your computer is older than 4 years and even then you could just upgrade.

pretty much exactly... I use iTunes to organize the songs, maybe rip some, send them to my ipod and put playlists on my ipod. And some things with MusicMatch.

but if i just want to play a song i'll use winamp

Re: iTunes Problems

This question goes out to anyone who knows the answer:

Is it possible to play my iTunes playlists with Winamp? I just downloaded iTunes about 3 days ago, and I dont know much about this. I really want to be able to play my iTunes playlists with Winamp.

The reason I want to do this is because I have a TON of CD's that were given to me by friends. I spent last night taking songs from the CD's and importing them to my library, so that I would have a copy on my computer. My library size went from 109 songs, to 383 songs. I want to play these songs with Winamp, but I cant figure out how to play my iTunes library or playlists with Winamp.

Couldn't you just play them in iTunes?

Of course. But I dont want to.

I really like Winamp, its so small and has the "stay on top" feature, and uses up VERY little RAM.

you see, when givin a choice. not everyone wants to use a program, just because its apple.

winamp is better for playing em. its small, faster, loads quicker. stays out of the way. and can integrate controls into other programs to control it.

itunes IMO is better for other things.

Exactly.

iTunes is awesome, but not for playing.

Thats why I want to use my iTunes playlist and library on Winamp.
