The day draws near...

November 12! The release of the extended version DVD of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring!
What does this DVD offer:

30 minutes of extra scenes, the ones that were too long for the cinema version (BTW they are incorperated (spelling?) into the movie, not just pasted at the end)

euhm thousends of extra's like enceclopedia (I think)

There is also a collector's edition with 2 stone book holders:

I'm going to get the collector's edition (yes I'm crazy): about $70!! :D :p

Kitana85 11-08-2002 07:21 AM

Wicked!! I can't wait to get them!! I'm a LOTR freak---just a currently broke LOTR freak.

Shiz 11-08-2002 09:23 AM

no one is more LotR freaky than me!! :)

i just bought the first book of the HoME series and boy is t confusing.

DeathsHand 11-08-2002 02:27 PM

Yeah I kinda want that, but we already have the normal LotR DVD so yeah...

But I mean 30 extra minutes of stuffs! Plus a lot of other extras...

and BTW, yes the extra 30 minutes is placed back in the film where it would have been if it wasn't cut out... Although there may be two versions on the set... the normal and then the one with the extra 30 minutes put back in...

So yeah...

DarkMaster 11-08-2002 03:18 PM

meh, i'll get my parents to buy me it for christmas

Angrist 11-08-2002 03:56 PM

Hey Shiz you're really into Tolkien! I'm currently in Unfinished Tales. I've read LotR, The Hobbit and The Silmarillion all twice. :)

Can't wait for Tueseday! :D

GameMaster 11-08-2002 08:32 PM

For $70 dollars, those bookholders better not be made of cardboard. :D ;)

Angrist 11-10-2002 04:31 AM

It could be $60, not sure.

They're made of stone. :D

2 days! :D:D :p

Bond 11-10-2002 09:49 AM

Do they have a version of the DVD with all the bonus footage but without the stone sculptures?

Edit: I actually was looking through a Circuit City ad and they have the 30 hour extended DVD for only $30. Of course it doesn't include the sculptures, but it sure is a lot cheaper.

Edit again: The same thing that is $30 at Circuit City is $25 at Best Buy, so buy it there. Until that is I find it somewhere else cheaper. :)

Angrist 11-10-2002 10:04 AM

Yep as you've noticed, they have it. :)

Hmm if that version is $30, the one with the sculptures should be under $60. :)

Can't wait! I'll be in line (what line? ) on Tueseday at 9:00 AM! :D
