new Super Mario Bros Wii

Yeah, I know milking it, but the theme of two is running rampant this e3.
2 MGS, 2 Assassin's Creed, 2 Need for Speeds, 2 Final Fantasies, 2 Halos...

Anyhow this game looks awesome for different reason.
2D is one of them
4 player co-op is another and a return of the Koopa Kids. :D

Quote:

• New Super Mario Bros. Wii offers a combination of cooperation and competition. Players can pick each other
up to save them from danger or toss them into it.
• Mario™, Luigi™ and two Toads are all playable characters, while many others from the Mushroom Kingdom
make appearances throughout the game. Players can even ride different Yoshi characters and use their
tongues to swallow enemies – or their fellow players.
• In some areas, players use the motion abilities of the Wii Remote™ controller. The first player to reach a
seesaw might make it tilt to help his or her character reach a higher platform – and then tilt it incorrectly just to
mess with other players.
• New items include the propeller suit, which will shoot players high into the sky with just a shake of the Wii
Remote and Mario’s new ability to transform into Penguin Mario.
• At the end of each stage during the simultaneous multiplayer mode, players are ranked based on their score,
the coins collected and the number of enemies defeated.

I hope it has online. I don't have 3 real life friends. :baby:

Wow, they finally returned the Koopa Kids! What took them so long?

This game looks fun, and you get to dick your friends over. Win win.
Sadly there will be no online which blows.
But 80 some odd levels.

No online??? GD it, Nintendo! Lazy, stuck-in-the-eighties bastards.

Re: new Super Mario Bros Wii

Looks like a lot of fun, but I can't believe it misses online.

They add it in games like Mario Kart, Excitebots, Battalion Wars 2... But they leave it out in what might be 1 of their best for the Wii.

Still, it does look incredibly fun. It's not just Mario x 4, it's a whole different way of playing.

Nice looks like the Kooplings/Koopa Kids are confirmed.

Re: new Super Mario Bros Wii

So eh is it confirmed not to have online? Then why did Miyamoto talk about the game not having Wii Speak? What's the use of Wii Speak on an offline game???

It better have online.

Re: new Super Mario Bros Wii

Apparently, they are releasing special themed controllers for this game.

One for each of the major players.

~Edit~~
Seems like its a 3rd party shell for the actual Wiimote.

Nintendo could squeeze a dollar out of a penny. They should name E3 to E2 or ES.

Game looks decent though, Nintendo at least makes refined fun games.

Re: new Super Mario Bros Wii

Those shells are weird. I have to see the back of them to see how if they can be held comfortably.

Not that it matters to me, I'm not buying crap like that, even if it were Nintendo 1st party.

Looks awesome, as long as I don't need to point, tilt, or shake anything.

Re: new Super Mario Bros Wii

I hate to harp on it, but I've given up on Nintendo when it comes to online. Nintendo really has it's head in its ass when it comes to this stuff. I'm fine with the hardware not having the power, but you can at least keep up with the regular innovations of online. Whatever happened to Nintendo trying to create a community? As far as I'm concerned, Microsoft is the only company that is devoted to an online community.
