The Thing Day 4 (delete the other one)

The men hurriedly dragged the body of the imposter Doctor Copper into the operating room of the medical bay. Blair quickly set to work dissecting the specimen. Upon slicing it open, the team discovers that this body had a near working set of organs, though some of them didn’t quite look like organs yet.

“These things make a perfect genetic copy. A few more hours and we would never have been able to tell that this wasn’t the Doc”, stated matter-of-factly.

Right then, MacReady burst into the room holding up bloody tattered rags.

“These are Doc’s clothes. I think these things have to tear through your clothes before they take you. Like we saw with Clark”

Childs stood in the doorway, armed with flamethrower. This would become very handy in a minute.

Blair had an assistant reach into the incision which has now clamped down on the assistants hands and had apparently sprouted teeth. The assistant screamed as blood spouted from his wrists and eventually collapsed, dead.

Everyone in the room ran to get behind Childs.

“Should I do it?”, asked Childs.

“BURN IT!”, shouted the rest of the men in a terrified harmony.

Childs let loose with the flamethrower and the alien let out a scream that didn’t seem to be coming from anywhere in particular. It was like the sound a spider makes when you set it on fire but all over.

In the midst of the burning, Copper’s head which now hung over the back of the table, began to split off from the rest of the body, in the way that silly putty extends and separates when you pull it apart. The imitated head of Copper proceeded to prout spider-like legs and new eyes that protruded from its chin.

This spider head walked out from around the table, but with nowhere to run to, it was exposed for all to see.

“You have to be fucking kidding me”, Windows exclaimed.

Childs let loose on the spider head and it convulsed about before finally attaining its final form as a burning pile of goo.

It was at that time that some of the men noticed that people were missing from the room.

Clarification just in case:

when the vigilante takes out the mob vote leader, the vote takes out the person in second place.

But we did get original alien.

Damn, it was the Professor. I thought he was being a bit too obvious, but oh well, good job everyone else for picking him out. This looks familiar...

It's like Deja Vu...

Now we have to assume, he corrupted one person per day which means he corrupted 3 people. We killed one.. meaning a minimum of 2 left.

!Clarification

Was the original alien the only one infecting others or do newly infected aliens also have the ability to infect so that can grow exponentially?

Clarification request denied.

Just know that there are balancing rules that have been in effect since the beginning to make it fair for both sides.

If the aliens were able to grow exponentially, the humans would not stand a chance.

Also, there are hidden mechanics in this game, all of which will be revealed at the end.

Everything is pretty well balanced but it would be easy for either side to run away with this one. All depends on who is the most on the ball.

Well we got two aliens so far

So humans got to be on a roll here.

Granted.. we also lost 3 humans but eh.

Aw ok...well trying out different scenarios. Figure at the very least there are 3 aliens. At most, 8.

And poor Mr. Game's character didn't even have a name. Too sad.

Re: The Thing Day 4 (delete the other one)

I was going to say "the vigilante did a better job this time than the last", but then I realised he killed somebody that was going to be killed by the mob anyway. Although he probably didn't know either that the mob would kill the second in line. :) And he probably was afraid of killing of an innocent guy again, so no problem.

Anyway, interesting. Darn that Professor. :D

Who says there was only one original alien? It says "Professor S - Original Alien", not "THE Original Alien", so I'm thinking there can be more than one. It would be pretty hard/depressing for one alien to infect/kill off 15 others. I very much doubt the game would have ended if we had killed the Prof in the first night.
I was under the impression that the aliens could infect one person per night, but as Dylflon says, this probably varies, depending on the progress of the game.
