I had both seen them before, T2 a few times. I was especially surprised at how good T1 was! I really enjoyed it a lot and I thought it was very scary in at least 3 scenes.

Next on my list is T3 (seen it once, wasn't too fond of it) and then The Sarah Connor Chronicles. :)

Mmm, T2 is fantastic. One of my favorite movies.

I've been wanting to see Kung Fu Panda. XD I'm really wanting to watch the Zohan movie, too, anyone seen it?

I just ordered Crimes and Misdemeanors so I can watch it over and over again. :p

Anyone else like that Woody Allen film?

Terminator 3 sucked!! I liked the pilot of The Sarah Connor Chronicles better than this movie.
So 6/10.

I watched Grandmas Boy for the first time in a while last night. I loved the shit out of it when it came out, and I still do now. That movie is so funny, I'm not sure I understand all the hate it gets.

Here's my list or recently viewed movies:

- Shoot 'Em Up
- Eastern Promises
- 3:10 To Yuma
- Layer Cake

Eastern Promises bored the bejeezuz outta me. Damn you, Cronenberg...how is THAT a decent follow-up to A History Of Violence?! Pfft.

Everything else was alright.

Beautiful Girls (1996) - 8/10
Reminded me a lot of Garden State, in a good way.

Terminator - The Sarah Connor Chronicles - 8/10
Really adds a new depth to the Terminator world. Much better than Terminator 3. I'm glad they're making a season 2!

Indiana Jones 1 8/10
Indiana Jones 2 6/10
Indiana Jones 3 8/10

Watched Blue Velvet two nights ago. God, I love Lynch. I'm not sure if any movie has ever made me feel more strange, uncomfortable, and scared, yet I still loved it even though I could barely watch it.

I watched Knocked Up finally last night. Some very funny lines that had me laughing out loud. Even some of the more sappy moments had me going, but some didn't. Overall, kept me surprisingly entertained for a 2+ hour comedy.

Let's see..

I watched The Island of Dr. Moreau a few days ago. It was pretty bad, it felt completely disconnected. Classic book-to-movie syndrome.

Then I watched The Departed. Really good movie, kinda like Ocean's Eleven, with some interesting twists at the end.

Then I watched..Little Miss Sunshine. I loved it. Soo funny, especially the last half hour. Recommended :)

I saw The Incredible Hulk. It was okay. I wasn't to happy with the end, but the scenes in the beginning were pretty good.

Did you think Ed Norton did a better job than Eric Bana?

Yes. But then, Norton is an academy-caliber actor. The best parts of the movie were during the beginning. The worst parts of the movie were the CGI scenes. Unfortunately, The Hulk doesn't really have much of a personality. Hulk Smash. Bruce Banner does have a personality.

I know a lot of people have mixed opinions on Liv Tyler, but I think she was gorgeous in the movie as well. She's one of those actors who looks like a normal person, and I love the way she looks. I'm probably in the minority, but oh well.

I have no clue what the hell your talking about. But no, War of the Servers. An hour long machinima film about G-mod and mingebags. :p

Indiana Jones 4. 6/10
25 years and that's what they came up with? It could have been so epic... :(

Re: Last movies you saw

As you can see from my sig, I saw There Will Be Blood on Saturday night.

It was a pretty epic movie. I'm not sure -what- it is I liked so much about it, it seemed to have no real direction most of the time. There was no clear "beginning and end", just one man's decent to madness. I enjoyed it.

Daniel Day Lewis pretty much made the movie what it was, though.

Rurouni Kenshin is awesome! One of the best animes I've watched.

The Shishio arc is amazing.

I just finished National Treasure 2, I rented it on Blu-ray last night and it was really good. I loved the first one and this one was right on par with it. And it was a quite good looking Blu-ray too.

I just watched Mister Lonely. I can't say I've ever truly loved a Harmony Korine movie, but they are certainly different. Refreshing in bizarre ways...

Re: Last movies you saw

Now mind you this is the past 2 weeks or so but haven't remembered to post.

Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull. I didn't hate it, but it isn't my favorite movie of all time. I would say it is a solid 3rd as far as Indy flicks go.

Charlie Bartlett. Not quite sure what drew me to this movie, but I was disappointed really. But it has Aladuf's golden boy (well not Flunkie) Robert Downey.

Stardust. This was an interesting movie. I say folks should watch.

The Incredible Hulk. A nice summer movie. One of the best climaxes in some time. Here's to you the Dark Knight.

The Bucket List. Jack gets to be JAck while Morgan is Morgan. It was a decent movie but expected more from the premise. Also curious to do my own bucket list but so morbid.

I think that's it.

Ooooo

Batman: Gotham Knights. It was ok. Not as great as I expected, but watchable.

I haven't seen a movie in weeks. The last one was Indy 4 and I pretty much hated it. Worse than part 2. That just wasn't Indiana, that was somebody else... This isn't how he has grown old, it can't be!

I got dragged to Get Smart.

I literally slept through the first half of it, and I'm glad I did because it made the torture that much shorter.

Really? I thought it looked like it's pretty funny.

manasecret 06-30-2008 04:55 PM

Re: Last movies you saw

Sleeping through it was caused by attending a pub crawl an hour before, and by then I was sobering up. And I never like a movie when I'm sobering up, so I wouldn't put any worth into my opinion of Get Smart.

Comon now Indy 4 wasnt THAT bad...it did have a very different feel from the older flicks, but I was expecting that. I watched it again a second time, and I enjoyed it more than the first time. You just have to take it for what it is, really. The plot is obviously the most "out there" of the 4 films, but if you can live with that the action is absolutley awsome, nobody does action scenes like Spielberg. I really hoping there is one more with Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones.

On a related note, I was reading awhile back about a suppoused leaked script that was rejected by George Lucas. It was written by Frank Darabont (Shawshank Redemption) Suppousedly, the script was similar but had some key notable differences. The main plot was the same, with basically the same ending. It still included the warehouse scene and the jungle action sequence. First difference, Shia Labuff's character was completley absent from Darabonts script. This left much more time for the Indy - Marion relationship to develop. Also, Marion was either allready married or seeing someone, so Indy had to "compete" for her affection. The last difference and most notable to me was that the script paid absolutley no mind to Indy's age. No old jokes, no nothing. There was also another action scene in this script.

Re: Last movies you saw

I don't know. Indiana just wasn't the same. The way he enters the movie, bah. Pulled out of the back of a car and thrown onto the ground? Oh how the mighty have fallen.

The storyline could have worked if it wasn't for all the crappy details. Some scenes made me look away in shame.

But maybe it gets better the second time I watch it. If I ever will. ;)

I watched The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou a few days ago. I'd read reviews that said "worst movie ever" and stuff, but I liked it a lot. I'd give it 7,5/10.

I also watched Juno. This one I loved. The movie itself may not be a 9/10, but the emotion, the character development is great. 9/10 :)
