It's ok, I love you Batman.

Re: The Dark Knight Thread
I think Jim Carrey should be the Riddler again. He was great.
The worst thing about Nolan creating a third Batman film will be the absence of Heath. Batman is pretty dry through this movie. And his performance pales in comparison to Heath's. Maybe that's just the nature of the characters. But every time I saw Batman speak, with his lower lip all funny looking and that ridiculous voice... I just couldn't get past it. |
Re: The Dark Knight Thread
I'd prefer a darker Riddler like the Joker is in Dark Knight. Dark jokes would be a good take, especially if somehow someone could do a performance similar to Heath's. Darker Riddler and darker Joker would be an interesting duo.

Re: The Dark Knight Thread
I'm not sure where I read it but I heard rumors of Anthony Michael Hall as Riddler...

Re: The Dark Knight Thread
Well let's see the ones people expect
-Riddler -Catwoman -Penguin The ones I hope for -The Clock King (he is a personal favorite but yeah I realize a whole movie about he would be impossible) -Clayface (especially if use a modified version of the Batman origins) -Deadshot (he was used in the anime special) Ones other hope for -Bane (I can see it but a lot of the taste of that other movie would ruin the character) |
Re: The Dark Knight Thread
I don't think they could pull off a Deadshot movie.

I think you got a plot for a movie right there. Deadshot emerges as a new hero for Gotham to replace the wanted Batman. The public encourages him to go after Batman. He is finally revealed as an evil man trying to gain control of the broken mob. Personally, I've always been curious about a superhero movie that has a 2 act set-up. Where the start is like the hero chasing and catching a minor villain. And at the same time, the rise of a new villain. Sure it is kind of similar with Scarecrow in The Dark Knight but eh |
Re: The Dark Knight Thread
Except Scarecrow's scene in Dark Knight felt so out of place to me at least it could have been left out even though it kinda set up something later on.
I thought I read somewhere the Director doesn't want to do Clayface since he isn't a fan of CGI which well..Clayface will definitely need though they did really good CGI on Two-Face in Dark Knight. At first I wondered if they did makeup or not..until I realized that its difficult to pull off makeup when it comes to baring the teeth and whatnot. |
Re: The Dark Knight Thread
Man, just got back from my second time through. So amazing, even though imax was sold out, the regular version was fine (even if it was quieter.)
I love this movie. And just like The Prestige, there is SO many little nuances in the writing - for example, when Alfred points out to Harvey that he's almost known Rachel her whole life, yet ironically her life ends not long after. :lolz: Oh Nolan, you card. I think I love this film because it's the perfect companion piece to The Prestige - in The Prestige he almost completely masters unconventional storytelling, yet in Dark Knight he shows how he can write the same way with a linear, more pop plot. If only Hugh Jackman and Scarlett Johansson were in this, it would be awesome - but there's SO many actor tie-ins. William Fitchner and Bale (Equilibrium), Tommy Lister and Gary Oldman (Fifth Element), Aaron Eckhart and Katie Holmes (well, if Holmes never had "scheduling conflicts", but Thank You For Smoking) and more that I can't think of. So awesome. EDIT: Holy shit! Mr. Reese is totally going to be the Riddler. Mr. Reese = Mysteries! GET IT? Oh my god. How did I never catch that? Just like his other pseudonym, Edward Nygma - as in Mr. E. Nygma. |

But yeah, his scene to me felt kinda eh... And that line was goofy... |
Re: The Dark Knight Thread
Eh, I enjoyed the scene. It was a nice little cameo, and it was cool that Cillian Murphy came back to do it.
