I do miss earth and its conniving ways, but this is just ridiculous.

This is longer than a usual first round, though. This is also the hardest mafia yet for the good guys to win, since it looks like we won't even know if we've killed a crazy person or not.

For the good guys, speculating as early as possible is the only way to win.

My votes are not going on peoples posts. At all. Not now, anyways.
They are going by the flow of the actual story dialogue itself.
As this is the first round, I am joining the majority, as most others are doing, as to not draw attention to themselves, considering this madness just started occuring, and everyone is dazed, and in a blind rage of what to do.

I don't mean to sound out of character, but the story is only for entertainment, isn't it? It doesn't actually reveal anything about the game, does it? It never has before.

And that's why I retracted Uber_Paddler and voted Germanator.

!Clarification Dylflon, did you assign roles before or after you asked us to write our background?? I'd like to know if it's random or not.

It's random

I'd like to assume it does, considering it has our actual names in it, and you can subtly draw conclusions from it, in partner with posts from the people, as to unusual behaviour of a normal person who is covering something up (IE posts), or the in-story actions.

But that would be a clarification moment.
And I'm far too lazy to move the mouse up to select the orange hue.

"Good guys" can also be crazy.

Innocent people are innocent. And if last game is any indication, us innocents can seem like the bad guys sometimes (and get clusterfuck voted off for no reason at all.)

I'm still sticking with Uber because I'm shallow. :)

He speaks the truth. The narration is only for flavor. It will not determine who is crazy. I have to make everyone seem possibly crazy in the narrative to keep it fair.

Which is exactly why I'm using the "clusterfuck vote" as an indication that that person is innocent. :D

If that's the case, then my reasoning means nothing.

But, unless Sir Uber Paddler decides to participate sometime before Thursday noon, I will keep my vote as him.

As will I. I would rather vote someone off in the first round who isn't participating than someone who is, crazy or not.

And Vampyr, I'm perfectly willing to switch my vote to anyone if you can provide a logical reason for doing so. However, since it's so early in the game, I doubt you can. For now, I will stick with my "least harm" vote.

First of all: !Clarification Do crazy people know they're crazy? Or are they told they are not crazy, because from their point of view, they aren't?

So I was thinking. We won't be told who was what. But we do have to find a way to figure it out, so I assume there will be hints in the narration.
This guy who thinks he's George Washington makes a good point. I like his 18th century's qualities, so I'll go with his reasoning.

!vote Uber Paddle

Edit: also, he hasn't posted yet.

You seem to have missed this !clarification Dylflon. Unless of course I just missed your response to it...

I didn't miss it, I just chose not to respond to it.

It's more fun that way.

Ooh, I hit a nerve!

Anyway, now that we know that voting for Uber_Paddler came out of nowhere, I will change my vote again (which is currently on Germanator). I'll have to read through all the posts again to decide who is most suspicious.

By the way, we don't know any of the rules this time, do we?

I'm not providing logical reasons for voting for someone, I'm providing logical reasons not to vote for someone. They could be completely wrong, but Dylflon said we had to pay attention and be careful. At the moment this is the only thing I have to go on, and it makes the most sense to me. In this game, especially at the beginning, going with the bandwagon usually results in the "bad" guys winning.

Re: Space Madness Round 1 - Strange Transmission

But we now know that roles were assigned randomly. So the fact that somebody happens to be the captain, doesn't mean a thing.

!I retract Germanator
