Kate & Leopold. 6/10
A romantic comedy with a time-travelling twist. Pretty average. Toy Stor 3. 9/10 Great movie, much better than expected. Maybe it wasn't as funny as it could be, but the story/theme was great. I saw it in 3D btw, but it didn't add much. |
Re: Last movies you saw
In Bruges
Loved this movie. Just the right amount of cursing, violence, and humor. |

The Book of Eli:
It was the second time I've seen it, and I still really enjoyed it. I've seen it with 5 different people so far, and all 5 have liked it a lot. The only negative about the movie is that it has religion in it. To which I say "Tough titties, so did Indiana Jones." I suggest watching this movie. Suspend belief a little bit for a couple hours, and enjoy a good movie. 30 Days of Night: I didn't really like the movie. The only good part of it was towards the end, and it involved Josh Hartnett's fist, and a Vampires face. |
Re: Last movies you saw
Ya, Book of Eli entertained for sure. Oldman is pretty good at villainy.
I just saw Beverly Hills Cop 1 & 2. The first one was pretty good. By the end of the second I was getting tired of the donkey laugh. I enjoyed 1 more than 48 Hours. Safety Last (1923) - Cool ancientness. I liked the Battleship Potemkin more. I liked Duck Soup (marxbros) and Monkey Business was good. I'm going to see A Night at the Opera soon. |
Re: Last movies you saw
The Usual Suspects. First time seeing it. Great cinematography.

RocknRolla
Quite liked...though there hasn't been a Guy Ritchie film I haven't. |

Funny enough that's the only one I haven't seen. And it looks like it should stay that way.

I've seen Swept From The Sea and Cast Away, but not Swept Away...

Re: Last movies you saw
Whiteout. 6/10. I'd rate the first hour with a 7, but the ending came too sudden and was boring.
D-War. 6/10. Fun monster movie. :) Great to see a huge serpent ravage a city. Sadly the story was sillly, the acting sometimes bad. Oh and it has a lot of clichés. |
Re: Last movies you saw
I Love You Phillip Morris
I quite liked it, but after reading up on his exploits, some of his actual cons seem much more interesting than how they were handled in the movie. Nice to see Jim Carrey again. Can't recall the last time I saw a movie with him. |
Re: Last movies you saw
A few recent watches...
Kick-Ass: I had wanted to see this in theaters but never got around to it. Pretty great little twist on the superhero movie. The action scenes were fantastic. Fun movie. Night of the Living Dead: I'd been meaning to watch this forever and I'm glad I finally did. I liked this even more than I thought I would. There's great tension and the depressing nature of the ending is satisfying in its non-Hollywood way. In the Loop: Incredibly funny political satire. It's constantly moving and the dialogue is hilarious. Gives a pretty interesting take on what may be going on behind the scenes leading up to a war. |
Re: Last movies you saw
Toy Story 3: I Think Pixar enjoys making people cry.
Meet the Robinsons: Hyperactively fun and positive. |
Re: Last movies you saw
"Bigger Stronger Faster"
Hilarious and informative documentary on the use of steroids and performance enhancing drugs, as well as other commonly and not so commonly used drugs, in American society. Definitely worth the watch if you're into lifting, sports, or just curious about the insides and outs of the steroid debate. |
Re: Last movies you saw
Superman/Batman: Apocalypse
Some great fighting scenes. Definitely the best superhero fights outside of comics. Um, plus a cute Supergirl shopping montage. And if have no intention of seeing the movie, can at least watch a couple of the fights: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ID4c4zUgow http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PBLpFDEmJUE |
