Re: Last movies you saw
I saw Barry Lyndon. It was ok I guess, for it's genre (18th century drama).

Re: Last movies you saw
The Crazies was a well-executed but somewhat generic movie. So good and recommended, more important when you consider the source material and when it came out.

The Bounty (1984)
I loved this movie. Sooooo many Tahitian titties once the story got underway. Felt really bad for Mel's character...titty duty turmoil. I like sea-going movies that give that starving adventure tropical happy scurvy feel. |
Re: Last movies you saw
Going to see District 9 tonight. Downloaded it in HD.

Re: Last movies you saw
I watched Ghost in the Shell 2.0 yesterday. It was a nice way to freshen up the movie and it looked pretty good for a digital restoration of a 15 year old movie. The Blu-ray transfer wasn't the best at times but I wasn't expecting much.

Re: Last movies you saw
I saw Akira for the first time today! That was pretty awesome.
And saw Advent Children Complete. The added scenes and the revisions were refreshing since I was able to tell that the movie was different since the last time I saw it, but it's still kinda over-rated and the plot doesn't make much sense still. But eh. |

I saw the 2 seasons and the 2 movies of GitS. I thought Akira was incredibly boring. I saw Happy-Go-Lucky, I hated it. It was supposed to be like Amélie, but it wasn't. She was annoying, the movie didn't have a story. Some jokes were funny though. Also finally saw Moon and District 9. Moon was awesome. :D The whole next day I was still thinking about the story. :) |

Re: Last movies you saw
Just finished getting through my newly-delivered copy of Evangelion 1.11: You are (Not) Alone.
It was a great way to bring the old into the new, lemme tell you. It's a visual overhaul, definitely not just watching the entire show (or I guess the first 6-8 episodes of the series) all over again. Especially the fight against the 6th angel. Holy hell. I don't know how interested people would be in it if you haven't seen the show before, but it's worth a watch. Sadly there's no news of when even a DVDRip from Japan or a US release will happen for the second movie, and it already was released in theaters in Japan back in July. |
Re: Last movies you saw
Saw Hot Tub Time Machine the other night. Hilarious movie.
Definite classic |

Eden of the East: The King of Eden
The first of two movies that follow the events of the series. The show took place in Washington D.C. and Tokyo while the movie is mostly set in NYC. Probably the best depiction of the city I've seen animated; a number of recognizable areas. Trailer for the show: |

Brick
Really enjoyed it though the dialogue took me out of it a bit. Pitch perfect noir but it felt like a student play when you have highschoolers speaking in that manner. |
