He can and he can't do it simultaneously.
Happy now, Mr. Philosophy? Or does that require further explanation? |
How can he not do it? If he can do everything?...
And if god knows everything, past, present, and future then he knows what's going to happen right? He knows what choices you'll make and where your going to end up. Well if he already knows what were going to do then how do we have a choice? Bible says we choose where we go, heaven or hell. But if he already knows what we'll choose then that means we relay have no choice. Big contradiction. |
It's odd in that this discussion seems to have come out of the blue, and this is not really the time and place.
There are simply somethings that we as humans can not understand and are beyond our knowledge. Somethings we will figure out, others we will never understand. Religion is based on faith, you either have faith in your religion or you don't. |
Yea , it did come out of nowhere, sorry :)
I guess I don't have much faith, I can't believe in a "All loving god" who lets good people go thru hell on earth. That loves us so much but will let us see pain and be able to send us to hell cause of it. I don't know... Just allot of things to me don't seem right in religion. Churches seem so hypocritical. People seem to always be looking to fit in and be apart of a group that they never question what there doing or try to see that it might not be real. Who knows, maybe I'm wrong but maybe the other 99% of the world is wrong to... |

Churches are sometimes hypocritical because they are run by humans. It's not like the Church is a Utopia. It is run by normal everyday humans. There are both good and bad people in Churches. I know I talked about this a while ago in a chat. But lets take a person who blindly follows their religion and a person who questions religion. Who dies happier? The person who blindly follows their religion, not the one that is constantly questioning the existence of a god. And if even there would be no god, the person who blindly followed their religion would still die happier. And less than 99% of the population believes in god. I would put it more around 80-90%. |
True, the one who believes in a god dies happier but also wouldn't it be unneeded stress at times. Trying to live up to the standards someone put for you all the time. Worrying about where your going to end up? Worrying if the thing you just did was sin or not. Wile the religious person is worrying and trying to be "good" the one who doesn't have faith of that sort is busy living and trying to make the best of his life. You can try to live every day better and more fully because you know theres nothing after you die. Now is all that matters. That gets allot of people in trouble though. But if your smart enough to know what's right and wrong in todays society and follow it you can stay out of trouble. If you know that this life is allt here is, nothing after it then you don't have to worry as much about being right, or good, or sinless.
Ok that all sounds relay dumb :) Sorry. It kinda makes sence in my head but when it comes out i can never get it in the right order and stuff.... |
wow...all this just from asking whether god can microwave a burrito so hot that even he couldn't eat it all...
