yep, mistiques the mommy :D and rogue gets her strength powers by being on a team b4 the xmen, this team was run by mistique, and she obtianed the powers by holding on to another mutant until this other mutant went into a permanent coma, and rogue got her powers perminantly...i forget the name of the mutant tho...it was something like super woman....but thats DC:unsure: |
I believe the movies are trying too hard to cram in characters. If memory serves me right, half of these characters should be more than twice their current age. Collosus and Iceman seem a bit too young.
I'm surprised that people don't know much about X-Men O_o. Maybe you're all too young, heh. |

And to all of you people complaining that the movie doesn't have your favorite mutant or that it has too many mutants or that it's doing the timeline wrong: chill. Really. It's a movie, and that means it can't completely copy the comics no matter how much of a fan Bryan Singer is of the books (and we all know that he is a big fan). Just enjoy the movie as a movie and stop worrying about how faithful it is. I didn't see anybody kvetching about how many changes The Two Towers made from the original book. That's because we were all having fun in the movie theater, and we didn't really care. Why can't the same be true for an X-men movie? |

It just reminds me of how Spiderman kinda just squirted out webbing, rather than making cartridges. It messes with too broad of an area, methinks. |
Long live the world-wide releases of cinema movies! :D
I saw it yesterday, it was great. The opening scene with Nightcrawler... Rogue was even prettier than in part 1 (and Fly Away Home) and Famke Jansen was great too. Too bad they had to pull a Gandalf on her... Cool story, better than the first one. Magneto with the iron balls rules! :D It was cool to see new mutants (Jubelee, Pyro..) although I don't think I saw Colossus... or I don't know who he was in the cartoons. Never read the comics. Great movie, The Matrix Reloaded sure has a lot competition.... but I'm sure it can take it. :D |
john (pryo) in the first movie, is different than john in the second movie. i hate when they do that!!
|
Oh well, I like the new Pyro. He potrayed the evil in him very well, IMO.
|
Sorry for the double post... But are there any good websites that have like bios on all of the Xmen characters? Because that would be very cool, because I am very interested in Xmen again.

Also, to pick on Spiderman because of the l;ack of cartridges is silly. Truthdully, its the cartridges that don't make sense in the real world, which is the world that movie makers have to put you in. Besides, Spiderman was faithful to the comic to a flaw (wrestling event). Movies have a smaller amount of lenience when it comes to suspension of dispbelief. Moviegoers will scoff at unbelieveable plotlines more than comic fans. Example: In order for the movie to remain true to the comic with Pheonix, you have toi do several things: 1)Somehow get the X-Men to the blue area of the moon. 2) Explain all the relics in the blue area of the moon. 3) Basically narrate the history of the Marvel universe. Bryan Singer has a hard job. He has to be true to the comic, but avoid the rest fo the Marvel universe as its too cumbersome for the films. Example: Rogue. Do we really want to get into the whole Ms. Marvel thing? My advice. Just sit down and enjoy the movie without referencing your Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe. |
I finally got to see it. I enjoyed it. Very well thought out, and all the characters were great. I'm sorry I missed out on the comic books, but at least the cartoons are still around for me to see. By the way, I cried when Jean Grey sacrificed herself, and Cyclops broke down.
Before I went to see the movie on Monday (May 12), I rented X-Men 1.5 on DVD. Since I enjoyed X2 so much, I plan to get the DVD when it comes out. That's why I then went and bought my own copy of X-Men 1.5 yesterday (May 13). I knew X-Men 1.5 would have a ticket that would allow you to see Daredevil for free, but I never knew that you could use it to see X2 for free as well. Looks like I'm going to be seeing X2 again. It might be good, since I know a certain girl who apparently plans to see it this weekend. Hmmmmmmmm. *strokes chin* |
