Re: New Style Survery

Well, we're going to have to go with links being underlined then. Otherwise, there's no way of telling what is a link.

Also, Jim, could you make a "forward" button?

Renwood 06-02-2008 12:12 AM

Re: New Style Survery

Yeah, I'll make one tomorrow.

Re: New Style Survery

Also, what's the reasoning behind not allowing members to edit their topic titles? I uderstand it on more active, open forums where quick edits would allow for some gross problems, but I'm not seeing that happening here, and if it did, that would be a good reason to then reinstate the limitation.

I'm down with Jimbo, I'd love to be able to edit my titles on threads.

No reason. It simply wasn't turned on.

I've allowed editing for any and all thread titles, for an hour after you post a thread. Enjoy. :)

Jim, how's that forward button coming? :)

Clicking Tinypic - This image or video has been moved or deleted to post, quote, and edit is pretty awesome. :p

Re: New Style Survery

Sorry, I forgot to move the images to our server when I was testing them. I will fix this when I get back from work.

It's not worth all that work just so you can have pink and yellow as your scheme.

Re: New Style Survery

I found the original .psds. Uploaded them to my website this time. Fuck tinypic.

http://brodeo.us/images/gt/

I added a forward button, and included darker sorting and "latest post" buttons which show up better against the light background.

Online Users is still being sorted alphabetically, rather than by last activity, btw. Also, probably wouldn't hurt to cut off the log at 15 minutes. It says the Googlebot is online, but it's 11:40, and it was last active at 11:20

confusing!

Bond 06-05-2008 01:13 PM

Re: New Style Survery

Would you be able to make an edit button as well, Jim?

And I couldn't find the option to change how Who's Online is sorted. Do you know where it is?

Renwood 06-05-2008 01:30 PM

Re: New Style Survery

Thought I uploaded it. I will when I get home.

I would think it would be somewhere under General Configuration and settings. Its been a while since I used a vB ACP. I know its an option, since other vBulletin boards are set up in that way.

edit: or perhaps I really am just mixing up Invision and vB. I've found a simple mod (one line of code, lol) that defaults to "Last Activity" as the sorter. It can be found here. To download it, you will need the licensed user account of the person who registered vBulletin though. I'm guessing you still don't have that.

Yeah, unfortunately, we're kind of up the creek for that kind of stuff because our main honcho, Neo, isn't around, and only he holds .org and .com access.

EDIT: And yeah, in vBulletin settings, it's only barebones options. No sorting options are there. :(

I changed all those buttons, Jim. If you could just upload the edit button and any others you think would look good that would be great.

When does the license expire?

He bought the full version. Which is good for us, but bad for us at the same time here since he's not around.

I tried the whitish style for a few days, but I went back to the grey one.

Yup.

I uploaded the edit button.

Alright, everything is fixed.

Let's get that header Dyne and then we can roll out this style!

Re: New Style Survery

:( I like the older grey and black one with just enough green to sex it up a bit.

Re: New Style Survery

Renwood, since you're back, it would be swell if you could make a closed and edit button so I can make other styles. :)

Renwood 06-14-2008 12:40 PM

Re: New Style Survery

I already made an edit button?

Bond 06-14-2008 12:41 PM

Re: New Style Survery

I know, but I forgot to save it to my computer to upload to my server. So by the time you deleted it from your server it was too late. :(

Renwood 06-14-2008 12:44 PM

Re: New Style Survery

But... I'm looking at it on my screen. It's being hosted at https://mywebspace.wisc.edu/atbond/edit.gif

Just right-click, save as?

Re: New Style Survery

Ok...Renwood, what you need to have as your avatar is your face like that but next to it put the face of your Mii character... because when I saw that, your Mii is the first thing I thought of.

Renwood 06-14-2008 03:52 PM

Re: New Style Survery

I can try to recreate it with one of those Mii Creator websites, but I don't think it will be possible to truly capture that glory. That lightning does not strike twice.

Aladuf 06-14-2008 03:54 PM

Re: New Style Survery

It's true, many attempts have been made to duplicate that glory but never has it been accomplished. Every time something just always seems.. off.

Angrist 06-14-2008 04:41 PM

Re: New Style Survery

If you want a picture of your Mii, just put the television on the scanner.
