I just want to forget about it, concentrate on other stuff (including SMG which I just bought) and be surprised to learn that Europe has a release date and it's closer than expected. :)

Sub-Machine gun.....:hmm:

Alright, just finished a lot of multiplayer.

First impressions? it's definitely evolutionary, not revolutionary. But the game is a lot of fun, and the new characters/moves are very well put together. Each of the characters feel very different from each other, and it'll take you a few minutes to really get a good feel for each one; despite this it remains very easy to pick it up and play vs other fighter games. There are quite a few retro stages, and I'm sure there's more I can unlock. In contrast to SSBM, there are no language settings so it was a bit hard to get through menus.

I tried out WiFi, which was very straightforward. We did have to try a few times before we got a connection to the Japanese servers (I imagine they're getting pounded), but once we were connected we had no issues. There was no discernible lag even with two parties in the US and our servers overseas. There's a little white stage with a punching bag to screw around with while your opponent selects their character and votes for which stage they want. We played free for all matches for the most part, my brother played with me on my Wii, my friend played with his roommate on his Wii, and fun was had by all.

If you have a question, feel free to ask.

I'm going to get some sleep, I've got work tomorrow morning.

*Edit*
And the Gamecube controller is definitely the all around favorite way to play the game.

I've got a question for you in the spoiler thread.

And here's the daily update:

TML, so you can play online FFA with multiple players per Wii? Some were afraid that you could only do team battles.
Do you have different online profiles for players? What I mean is: can my friends tell whether it's me or my brother playing online?

GM, I'm not reading Dojo since he said he was going to reveal hidden stuff.

Yes, you can enter your name in. There's a pencil icon under your character on the bottom. You click it and it brings up a text menu.

Wow, some of those characters got really shitty 'Final Smash' moves.

Samus, Ice Climbers, and Mario are among the few that got the real kick-ass 'takes-up-the-whole-screen' moves while folks like Kirby and Robot are left behind with stupid-ass moves.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And I can't end this post without giving another shout-out to the developers for their creative efforts. NOT.

• Lucas and Ness have the same final smash with a slight variation.

• Fox, Falco, and Star Wolf have the exact same final smash

• Zelda and Shiek have the same final smash (sure, they're essentially the same character, but you thought they could have changed it up a little, no?)

• Ike and Marth. Yep, you guessed it. Unsurprisingly similar sword moves

• Exactly 0% effort was put into giving Toon Link a unique final smash. Its exactly the same as 'Real' Link's move

However, I will give a few props for some of the more cool Final Smashes of:

Solid Snake, Captain Falcon, Ganondorf, and Game-and-Watch

Ike's final smash is amazing

Edit: What the hell is Luigi's final smash?

Im way behind: What exactly is a final smash, and how do you perform it? Can it only be performed once during a match or do you build up to it somehow or what?

It's a 'super, hyper, omega' move that you can perform by obtaining the 'Final Smash' item. And I'm not certain whether it just randomly drops like other weapons or it floats around the stage and everyone has to attempt to 'grab' it if they want it.

It's only 4 months since my last post and we already have it!!!!!!!!!!!

Now I just have to finish my stuuuuuuuuuuuupid internship report before I can play it. :(

Oh yeah, I inserted the disc just to check if my Wii could play it without problems. Played 1 minute as Link. Felt good. The next time I'll play it is later today with my brother. :) We're Smash Bros.

Yay. It's fun. It took a few minutes getting used to, because it's much more crowded and busy than Melee. But the awesome new levels, characters, items all make up for that.

I'm using the Wiimote+nunchuck. Took some matches to get used to as well. And some tuning. :)

Ok so we beat the SSE. It was fun, although some levels were annoying.

But the boss. Argh, he's so frustrating! We had no problem playing the game on normal (and sometimes hard), but we had to beat the boss on easy.

Maybe it's because we almost didn't use any stickers for our characters?
About stickering, I have a question: when it says [weapon] +attack, does that mean weapons you pick up, or weapons you always carry? Or to put it in a different way: if I want to upgrade Ike his power, do I need a [arm] +attack, or a [weapon] +attack sticker??

We only need to unlock the 3rd Star Fox character. We'll find him in the end, please don't spoil how to unlock him.

You should use the stickers. It makes an unbelievably big difference.

Oh.. I mean, yes, you can use the stickers.. :)

And Angrist, I have no idea what "weapon" means, so I only used the stickers which I had no doubts about - arm, leg, launch resistance, fire and stuff. :D

I had no idea they even did anything, I thought they were just collectibles like the trophies. I'll have to try them out.

Re: The official Super Smash Brosh: Brawl! thread

Finally unlocked Wolf. :) I decided to just go through the SSE until I found him. So now we have about 7 levels left with secrets.

Wolf is much cooler than I had expected. I was pretty pissed that the last character to unlock was a 2nd clone of a character I don't really like. But he's so badass.

But it did get me thinking. Some characters play really well, but are pretty unknown. Others are famous, but suck. Weird situation...
