My brother bought the real game. Beta is long over. I'm trying to hit lvl 40 before I marry. :p
Anyone else still playing?

Re: WoW: Battle Reports

The honor system screwed the game over...

Instead of making people engage in fair fights, people try to power-level their honor rank by grouping a number of level 60s together and wandering the road, camping corpses, etc... In places as low as Feralas even!

I was bored with the game once I hit 60 due to the fact that the endgame relied on raiding, and if you weren't in a big raid guild full of elitist power-gamers, you were **** outta luck...

Now the focus is shifting from raiding instances to raiding various areas to gain honor, which means a fair fight for nobody and lots of ganking for all, now there's a reason to do it!

It doesn't sound like a very fun idea, and so I don't do it, so it adds nothing to the game experience except getting ambushed everytime I'm on the road...

Enjoy!

Re: WoW: Battle Reports

Hm yeah they better implement Dishonourable Kills for low players. That should solve some stuff....

And I think things will be much better in a week from now.

Anyone still play this game and how have you progressed?

I stopped about 4 months ago, when my brother and me got bored with it. :) He was lvl 60 NE rogue, while I was a 42 Gnome warlock. I didn't actually pay for it, he did.

He plans to play again when the expansion comes out, so I guess I'll continue my warlock then. :)

I stopped playing probably around the January following it's release. I didn't like it. Now it sits in a bin in the garage. I'm going to sell it.

Play WarCraft 3 with me. It's better.

My brother just got this for Christmas, and I played for an hour today. I like it a lot.

I'm a level 3 orc warrior. I don't know what server I'm on but if you want to give me anything to help a noob out I'd appreciate it.

Not yet. Blizzard plans to release this service later.

Rumored price is $40 per character for server transfers. You're not very far, I'd just reroll if you want to play with somebody.

Re: WoW: Battle Reports

Man, I've been thinking a lot about starting up this game again. My few months with it last year were swell; plenty of fond memories. I never got addicted to it like I did with FFXI (it's like cocaine that doesn't give you a buzz), but more than anything I remember it being a fun game, which is, like, really feckin bizarre for an MMORPG.

If you guys keep playing, let me know. I may start up again in a month or so.

As far as pointers, Dyne, start crafting early on and pick something that'll suit your class well. For example, I was a hunter and I chose skinning/leathercrafting, cause most of my armor is leather and selling pelts was decent green.

That's all I can really think about in terms of advice.

Yeah, I probably won't play with anybody anyways. I'm pretty much a loner in it right now. I've declined like 15 group invitations already.

And thanks for the advice DM. I've started mining and blacksmith. I assume those are good for my class. I've already found plans for a copper mail or something so it was natural.

there is character transfer, but you cant do it whenever, they allow it on new realms, so for example, a 4 new realms just opened they want them to be as populated as possible so you can switch into it, what im going to do is get a bunch of my buddys and when a new realm opens we all switch in...

Canyarion 01-06-2006 03:50 PM

Re: WoW: Battle Reports

Also, you can only transfer to those realms if your own server is over-populated (hence the new ones....)

Re: WoW: Battle Reports

Ok, I'm playing this game again. :) My bro and I got a 1-month subscription.
Right now I'm installing the game. It should have been ready by now, but an error occured when I inserted disc 3. :(

I guess I'll have a lot of patching ahead of me.

Edit: The error occured a 2nd time, but the 3rd installation worked.
I only had to download 1 patch (well, perhaps a second small one). As I was installing it, it stopped at 99% because I didn't have enough room on my HD. After outstalling Ghost Recon, it worked. Well, I'm patching it now and assume it does.

Edit: damn, 5 patches in total. :( Oh well, I made it. :D

I have a 60 Holy Priest and opted not to renew my account until I see what the Priest review (next patch, 1.10), brought for me; I've decided I didn't want to bother if it was a disappointment. But I might be on again soon, the talent changes are slated to be revealed within a few days here.

After an hour of discussion, we agreed on a name: Guilt. Until the last moment we were gonna call him Yield.

Other cool names we came up with (though most were taken):
Davos, Bronn, Snow (those 3 are from A Song of Ice and Fire)
Fury, Wrath, Axe, Yoda, FUBAR, Havoc, Chaos, Acne, Scurvy, Brute, Scissors, Outrage, Piglet, Above (Death from Above!:D).

This afternoon I found First Mate Hat... which seems to just a pirate hat for lvl 35. But it's extremely rare. I almost sold it for 1g50, but the buyer was late and even forgot about it, and by then I realized that I could charge a lot more money.

I just don't know yet whether I'm going to be the coolest character, or the richest character. ;)

Nah... I put it on AH for 1000G :D. Not that I expect anyone to buy it, but this is what it's worth to me. I wouldn't know where to spend the money on. I don't care that much about stronger equipment. I play this game for fun and I really really love it when I can make people laugh.

I'm really leveling fast with my Warlock (http://wow.allakhazam.com/profile.html?921737). I'm doing a lot of Maraudon and Sunken Temple runs. I like Maraudon better, but ST has better drops for me. :D

Re: WoW: Battle Reports

I'm really playing a lot now because I have a computer than can play it.

I'm currently having a lot of fun with my level 15 orc warrior. I just got shoulderpads for the first time. :D

I would beg more but my character is pretty ugly. I've only gotten about a combined 8 gold from people, 5 from one person. Some people are nice and others don't even care.

I've played quite a few matches of Capture the Flag. I've only "captured" once and we've lost every time. One time this group of twinks was spawn-camping us and I reported them. That's why I hate the Alliance. They don't play fair in 10-19.

Canyarion 03-13-2006 03:02 PM

Re: WoW: Battle Reports

Argh, you're one of those beggers? I HATE THOSE. I always do /point, /lol, /shoo. If they're consistent, I ignore them. If I meet 2 in 10 minutes, I tell in general chat that I will /ignore everybody who asks for money.

If you need money: go play. Or be a smart dealer, that's what I love. I know it when people sell stuff for a low price.... I buy it and resell it a few days later. :p I've only made a loss on 1 item (Devout Belt [from set for priests]), but it was only 4G. I've made a lot more with other deals.

I have another nice business: elixir of demonslaying. My bro's hunter makes them, I buy the mats for him and resell the elixirs with 2G profit each. :)

No, I'm not "one of those beggers." Don't put me into that stupid stereotype profile, please. I've begged three times in total, extremely polite whispers (never more than once), and the 5 gold guy was just giving it away because I'm a noob.

I can respect the fact begging is stupid and people should just play, but I don't have very much time to play WoW.

That's a bad excuse. I've thought about that.... people who play a lot have much money and good items..... which seems unfair to others. But the point is, those who play a lot will have much more fun with them. It's 'a waste' when you have expensive equipment while you're almost never online.....

Anyway.... :p whatever. :D

Re: WoW: Battle Reports

Need a little help here:

I just hit 40, and I need to farm some gold for the mount and armor upgrade. What is the best way to farm gold for level 40? I've heard the best is multiple solo VC run throughs, but that seems like a lot of time for not that much of a return considering the level.

Any ideas?

DarkMaster 08-30-2006 02:09 PM

Re: WoW: Battle Reports

I've only ever leveled two characters past 40, but I somehow always managed to have enough green ready for a mount when I hit the level. I played a rogue once to 60 and had a lot more money than my other character (hunter), even managed an epic mount very shortly after I hit the cap. I've never actually farmed much, but it does depend on your class I think. As a rogue I would sometimes run around this one blood elf camp in Azshara. I pickpocket them for a about 90s a piece, then kill em in like 3 strikes, and collect another 90 or so silver, plus some loot (one time I got a epic weapon off of them, lots of blues and sh*t too).

If you have a craft like leatherworking, fight those enemies that you can skin and also drop money (think its the yetis).
