Whoa Crash that is a lot of awesome crap you got there. Not many people have high definition tv's but sooner or later you will almost need to have one, sort of like dvd players because there is less and less vhs crap anymore.

Bad Religion 01-03-2003 04:07 PM

i'm dyin for a HDTV, Crash, how good does MP look on that tv?

Crash 01-03-2003 04:48 PM

I do :p

Well, the rise in HDTVs will result in the death of DVD players. Right now, DVHS has a better picture quality than DVD. But, within a few years, HD-DVD will hit the market, and each HD-DVD movie will be in 1080p. It probably won't become too popular for about 5 years, when 1080p TVs are more common and cheaper. At that time, no one will want to watch movies in cheesy 480p, and you'll see a lot of them re-released yet again on HD-DVD. Don't think HD-DVD will take off? Think again. The difference between 480p and 1080p is the difference between night and day. If I owned a 1080p TV, I wouldn't settle for anything less.

Give it 5 years, I garauntee you'll all regret starting your DVD collections.

And Crash, he meant Metroid Prime.

Not unless they make one of those DVD to HD DVD burners.

gekko 01-03-2003 05:21 PM

Not likely. You could get a scaler, but currently, a 1080p scaler runs you over $20,000.

Joeiss 01-03-2003 05:25 PM

Pfft..... Chump money for you.

;)

DamnRaccoons 01-03-2003 10:38 PM

I would kill for a slice of Spice.

GameMaster 01-03-2003 11:39 PM

I don't know, I think its a tie breaker between gekko and Crash for first place. To determine who has truly the best setup you two will show us your computer setups.

gekko 01-04-2003 12:56 AM

Well, considering you'll a Mac fanboy, I think I win.

250MB Zip
80GB WD 8MB Cache HD
60GB IBM Deskstar HD
19" Sony G400

SoundBlaster Live (though I don't use it)

2.53ghz P4

Also 3 more in the household I don't want to list. And no pics, cause it's nothing special, and I don't want to charge my camera battery.

.......................

Bwaha! Goes to show you, those who save on setups or even consoles have MANY more games. This guy has the most amazing setup I've ever seen (may be too good to be true) but I can tell you I have probably triple his collection of games. No bragging though.

Not to crap on you bud, though. Nice collection.

01-04-2003 05:01 AM

Well Ronaldov I'm impressed, and that's not easy to do. You easily have the best video game system collection/set up so far and I like your game library for the most part.

What worries me is that woden chest right by the heater. Isn't that a fire hazard?

And your dvd movie collection is......bad, sorry.

Dyne 01-04-2003 06:14 AM

Um... meh, I guess I'll throw in my collection for now. But it isn't my setup. Lol.

This is NOT complete. I'll skimmy through the stuff tomorrow and update to completion. I can't really do it off the top of my head at 3:00 am like this perfectly.
