half way/nearly finished act 2. I love when the acts start up, sounds like some tribal african noises :)

Raiden kicks ass when he kills those mooing robots.

Oh and I really felt sorry for the laughing octopus lady :(

Update: Just learned that Snake has prematurely aged. I repeat, Snake has prematurely aged. This game does not take place several years in the future.

Spoiler much? Also, it's kinda obvious when in the trailer Meryl still looks young.

I think I'm up to act iv now. Man this game is amazing. Big mama is very very cool.

I haven't felt so passionate about a game since Super Mario Galaxy. This game makes me want to play more and more and more. And just when I Tell myself "ok Rob, get past this point then save" I want to find out more and keep playing. Now that's the sign of a king game :)

That's basically how I felt too. I beat it over the weekend, basically did it in two sittings (two super long sittings) cause I couldn't get enough. The story, just like most MGS games, just keeps pulling you deeper and deeper in.

As for GM's "spoiler", I've known that fact for over a year now. o.o So I guess it isn't to bad of one. But I hope people here are generally respectful about the plot. I see why reviews left out so many facts, it makes the game a lot more special.

Just finished Act 4. I wonder how many acts there are.

I love this game!!!! When I bought the ps3, overall the system left a bitter taste in my mouth. The controller, the interface, the packaging. Now that i'm playing MGS4, I'm loving it more than ever.

ok just finished it in 20 hours.

What a rollercoaster. Tears rolled down my eyes at certain stages. This game is definitely one of a kind in terms of it's presentation and cinematics/storyline. Gameplay.........nothing majorily fresh, but it doesn't matter, still disagree with the 10's given by IGN, but god damn i loved it. 9.7/10 for me

Re: MGS4

I don't know.. I think it was worthy of a 10 personally. Its kinda like the end of an era, this game wrapped up a series that keps reinvententing itself and kept getting 9.7-9.9 scores. IN the whole action game world, its rare to find a series that lasted two decades and that's still one of the most quality games of its time.

I think the MGS franchise is the most memorable gaming experience I will ever have all around. I mean, there's two guys in this thread admitting the game made them cry. (this guy isn't admitting shit, but you can! :D) It just goes to show how masterful it is.

I guess the knock could be the gameplay in itself (or lack thereof it), but I think it was very polished. I'm the type that prefers to keep it classic and sneak, so I probably had to face a lot more of the environmental elements.. For one part I did do the whole run and gun thing and was shocked at how easy it was.

I dunno though. I think this is one of those games that I'll look back at, and will say is one of the big reasons I love video games. A story lke that couldn't be done justice in a theatre or in a book.

Well good news from Japan, the game is really selling.

In its first 4 days, the numbers look like this (all versions of the game included)

476,334 units sold
77,208 PS3s sold

This makes it the highest selling PS3 game in Japan to date already...and I'm guessing worldwide sales of MGS4 will be in the 1.2-1.5 million range so far.

That's really impressive for Japan. This game definitely deserves the attention.

I wonder how many Japanese are actually playing with 1080p and surround? The surround is FANTASTIC and there needs to be more 1080p games on the PS3 like this.
