It reminds me of the scene in I, Robot where Will Smith is walking through the wad of disabled robots looking for the radical one and you can so tell that it is all computer generated. It hardly looks real, IMO.

But, I like the background, and I like the babe. Together, they just look odd.

New sig!

The Predator:

I just want to say that I have completely fallen in love with .png, and that I adore Firefox for supporting it. I've been designing a website recently, and I realized that .png files are smaller than .gif files.

IE is stupid for not supporting it. It's the file of the future, better than .jpg or .gif.

And don't steal that sig...my name is on it, if you look at the predators head, on the ridge.

And I know that the name of the movie is "predator", not "the predator", I just like putting the "the" in there.

yes screw ie users for now. if they want to see the pics correctly they can either download firefox or opera, or wait till IE 7 comes out.

Re: Vampyr's Gallery

I really like this signiture. The image on the left was created by me. I took a photo of myself, and then used photo shop to manipulate it to make it look sort of like a vector image. Then I took that picture and brushed over it, then used some color balance to get the color of the leaves. Then I found a font that I thought suited the look of the theme, and I personally love the text. It says "I was born in a house of leaves"

It isn't taken from anything...it's just something I wanted to build the sig on. I like making poetic sigs.

Zach, are you saluting or aiming an imaginative gun at your head?

Re: Vampyr's Gallery

Well, it looks great. The way you have the leaves arranged almost makes them look like flames also. And you did a great job 'vectorizing' yourself. I'd love to see a side by side comparison of the photograph and stand alone 'vectored Zach'. I think I have that font on my computer too. I forget its name at the moment but I used it for a GameTavern project here once.

I'm not sure what you're going for but my suggestion would be to adjust the area where you fall 'behind' the leaves. Maybe it's intended for you to be standing behind the leaves like they're a curtain or something but it looks kind of abrupt. I would ease your 'vector self' into the leaves a little more so it looks like you're slowly blending/fading into them.

O_O

Someone at GT is giving an in depth critique of my work?! Awesome! This rarely happens.

Thanks for the advice and critique, GM.

The font is Papyrus, it's one that null uses a lot. And I might post those pictures you are talking about, because personally I think the "vectored" version of me looks really cool.

A few other people have told me that the transition from me to leaves is abrupt, although I don't see it, but I'm going to try and fix it anyway.

And here is the poetic explanation:

There is a photo of me with a "gun" to my head, and leaves falling around me. The quote says "I was born in a house of leaves", and a leaf house would be very unstable. It would not take much to knock the "house" over. And in the sig, the leaves are falling around me, meaning that the house has collapses. The leaves are a symbol of my life, and the entire sig represents how unstable things are, including me.

I like the colorful bubble one :) i'd have to say thats your best. stylish. i also like that it gives the appearence that its not as tall. prolly the bubbles or the slight extra length that gives that appearence, but i dont like the tall looking ones.
