Re: Game Progress Thread 2011
I finally beat Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. I've struggled with it for years... and I really started to appreciate it after I beat the last boss.
So after that I went back to fetch chests, collect ship parts etc. A customizable ship was genious, I hope we'll see things like that more often in Zelda games. In the next few weeks I will start Spirit Tracks. |

Re: Game Progress Thread 2011
Nice, looking forward to it.
But before ST, I want to beat SMG2 and S&P2 (on normal, maybe try hard). Oh and maybe Monster Hunter 3 (the offline part... 2 monsters left). |
Re: Game Progress Thread 2011
So yesterday night I started Zelda: Spirit Tracks.
Now I'm wondering: when does the game actually take place? I know it's a totally new Link, but is it before or after Phantom Hourglass? |

Re: Game Progress Thread 2011
Yeah that's what I remembered... but now the game opens with "This is the oldest story of the land!" or something like that.
I guess I shouldn't expect Zelda games to make too much sense, especially the handheld ones. |
Re: Game Progress Thread 2011
What! Crashing with another train means instant game over?? Pfffffffffff!! That's just silly. I usually never save after a game over... but this time I hadn't saved after a long dungeon, so I had to.
Oh, talking about Spirit Tracks, which is a much nicer game than Phantom Hourglass. I have 109 stars in SMG2. I do remember all you guys talk about 240 stars, so I wonder what that's all about. Mirror mode or so? I think I'll save that for in a few years (like I did with Luigi in SMG). Still haven't continued Portal 2. I just expect it to be incredibly boring. And I think I've also been stuck for an hour or so. |
Re: Game Progress Thread 2011
Bested Gears of War 3 campaign with Magus.
Slight bump in the road with my Xenoblade progress due to it. |
Re: Game Progress Thread 2011
Been updating my soldier class in BF2. Ghost Town map. Getting warmed up for BF3.
I would love console extinction. Imagine developers and consumers balancing entirely within a "pc" market. http://www.megagames.com/news/nvidia...-consoles-2014 |
Re: Game Progress Thread 2011
Bumping this thread because I want to complain about having too many games to play.
So, anyway, I beat Zelda the other day. As is typical with me I didn't 100% or anything, but I also didn't rush through it. I did things as they came naturally, but didn't spend hours nooking through every cranny hoping there might be a secret or something. I'm also playing Skyrim. I technically started prior to getting Zelda, but paused when Zelda came out. I've been playing Skyrim more for the past day and a half or so, but kind of got to stopping point. Part of me wants to keep playing, but I also know its an immense game that will take oodles of times to finish. I kind of want to hold off on it for that reason. I have several other, shorter games I could knock out. Such as... Assassin's Creed: Revelations. I actually started this same time as Skyrim and then put it off when Zelda came out. Priorities. I've been thinking about going ahead and playing this, but I'm torn between it and... Uncharted 3. This is actually the first Uncharted game I've gotten while it was still new hotness. The first one I got, like, two years later and the second I got just earlier this year. I'm looking forward to playing tres, but I don't quite love the series as much as... Zelda. Yeah, I've beaten it, but its still on my list. As I said before, I didn't 100% it so there's still stuff I can do there. I won't necessarily 100% it, but I would like to try out the boss rush and see what this Hero Mode is all about. But, I have technically beaten it and waiting on the shelf is... Sonic Generations. First new Sonic game I've gotten since Adventure 2 for obvious reasons. I've played this one a little bit the other day and enjoyed it. Its pretty interesting how it makes me hardcore nostalgia (that's a verb, right?) for both my 6 year old self rocking the Genesis and my 13 year old self rocking the Dreamcast. Also, I'm kind of reliving the Great Console War of 1991 since I also have... Super Mario 3D Land. I actually bought this mostly for my wife. She digs Mario. I'll want to play with it sometime, too, though. At the very least, I feel slightly obligated to put some time on this snazzy new Zelda edition 3DS I have sitting right next to me. That and my gold Wiimote are probably the most uselessly cool things I own. Anyway, those are just the brand new games I've got fighting got my attention. I also have a pretty sizable backlog of games that I bought newish on a whim but never played significantly (Gears 1 and 2 as an example), older games that I wasn't able to experience until now (Fallout 1 and 2 to name just the most recent old school purchase), and older games that I'm interested in playing again for whatever reason (like, maybe because they've been re-released in HD in the Team Ico Collection). We must also not forget that Star Wars: The Old Republic comes out in as little as 12 days (depending on how early I get my early access). I'm also kind of holding off wanting to keep something saved for me to do when I take 3-4 weeks off later this month. But, I might also not have time to play games ever again at that point since I will also be in charge of a newborn. Nobody wants to be this guy. |
