Big day in Philadelphia today. Giants vs. Eagles, and then the World Series Game 4 later on today. First time there's been a World Series game and a Football game on the same day between the same two cities.

The Eagles beat the Giants today, which is always awesome.

Aaron Rodgers is a BEAST. Too bad his O-Line sucks ass.

Oh well, this is the exact problem in Chicago. We have this MVP quarterback and this O-Line that blows.

I fear this year is over for the NFC. Vikings vs. Saints in the Championship.

EDIT: I shouldn't count Philly out. They have looked fantabulous as of late.

Hey Bond, you ok? It's been a rough couple weeks for your Packers.

Re: Official NFL Thread 2009-2010

The Redskins and the Giants lost, so now the Eagles just have to beat the Cowboys, and it'll be a great weekend! It looks like the Jets, Ravens, Giants, Packers, Bears, and 49ers are all going backwards.

Sometimes I think Andy Reid is hos own worst enemy. The Eagles never should have lost the Cowboys game. The Eagles were running the ball very well, and then it seesm they forgot they could do anything but pass. Ugh.

You guys think the Eagles and Packers have it rough? Be happy you're not a Bears fan. /sigh

Still cracks me up.

All signs and injuries point to the Eagles losing at San Diego this week, but you never know. Eagles vs. Bears next weekend, KG. Should be a good one.

So apparently, the New York teams have just stopped playing.

Go Jets! :(

Re: Official NFL Thread 2009-2010

A lot of strange and close games today. The Bengals beat the Steelers for the second time this year. The Broncos lost to the Redskins. The Panthers beat the Falcons. The Dolphins almost losts one to the Bucs, and the Saints almost lost one to the Rams. I'm rooting for the Packers to beat the Cowboys and the Eagles to beat the Chargers for the second set of games today.

Bond 11-15-2009 09:11 PM

Good win for the Packers today! :)

Sad to see the Eagles lose to the Chargers. Philip Rivers is still a jerk.

Wooooo THE COLTS WON!

IN THE MOST UNLIKELY FINISH EVER!

Holy shit. What an edge of seat 4th quarter.

I'd like to jam in some CFL in here and say a big "Fuck Yeah" for the BC Lions winning the crossover game, and playing next week for the Eastern Final.

I'd also like to give a big "Fuck Off" to the Cardinals for beating the Seahawks.

As a long time Eagles fan, it's tough to watch them play this year. Even though they're not terrible by any means, something is just "off". The team seems disjointed, and I know some of that can be chalked up to injuries, especially on defense and the O-Line, but I also think the team is losing confidence in McNabb and Reid.

The Germanator 11-17-2009 08:55 PM

Re: Official NFL Thread 2009-2010

Yeah, it's been a weird year. The Eagles have gone from looking like a solid contender to losing to the Raiders, back to a contender, and now back to looking mediocre again. I can't really tell how good or bad they might be. I really wouldn't be surprised if it's McNabb's last year. I keep hearing they may even give Reid an extension, but he might be to blame more than anyone. I don't know, I guess it might be time to give the team to Kolb starting the whole year and see what happens.

Also: Vick is definitely back to being a waste of money. I really thought he'd look better as a player. Obviously he hasn't been given much of a chance, but he just looks kind of slow and timid out there.

ZebraRampage 11-17-2009 09:53 PM

Re: Official NFL Thread 2009-2010

It's crazy that Reid is the coach with the most wins over the past 10 years. It's something like that, or maybe it's the highest win percentage. But yeah, it's hard to believe that, especially since the Eagles always look so shaky, and they hardly ever run the ball. I guess we did go to a LOT of NFC Championship games though. I don't really know what's going to happen next. Technically, this has been one of the best Eagles teams to ever exist, maybe the best, but it just isn't going anywhere now. It's past its prime. I always believed that we should have beaten the Bucs in the NFC Championship game back in 2003, and then gone to the Super Bowl to beat the Raiders, but it's in the past, so no reason to look back at that. Overall this year has been really weird for most teams. A lot of different teams are up top, except for the Colts and the Patriots I guess.

Bond 11-23-2009 02:52 PM

Re: Official NFL Thread 2009-2010

Wow, Eagles really wanted to win that game last night, eh? Even resorted to pulling down Hester's pants. ;)

The Germanator 12-06-2009 03:49 PM

Re: Official NFL Thread 2009-2010

Maybe Vick should be back in Atlanta? He's got a passing and rushing TD today in ATL. 34-0 zip Eagles right now. I think the Falcons miss Matt Ryan. Looks like Vick will be in for the rest of the game too.

ZebraRampage 12-06-2009 05:12 PM

Re: Official NFL Thread 2009-2010

Go Eagles!

The Saints ALMOST lost to the Redskins..in OT. I'm not sure how that happened, though the Redskins do have a good defense.

The Steelers lost to the Raiders! I've been enjoying the quiet Steelers fans here at Pitt, and I only have two more weeks to go, so I hope the Steelers keep on losing. Also, the Raiders have beaten the Eagles, Bengals, Steelers, and the Chiefs(which doesn't mean much), but maybe they're not THAT BAD. They're probably the best of the worst teams.

The Patriots lost to the Dolphins, so that keeps things tight in the AFC East.

Heck yeah, he looked good! Nice to see the Pack playing good this time of year. I don't know what I'll do if the Vikings make it to the Superbowl...

Some big games today... this is definitely not going to help me write my paper.

Also, my fantasy team is completely tanking. I started 8-1, and am now 9-4.

Desean Jackson, holy shit. That was one of the most badass punt returns I've seen. It looked like he didn't know what he was doing and then BAM! TD! Amazing.

Personally, I'll probably do a little victory dance and then send you a consolitory six pack of the beer of your choice. For real, though, I hope the Pack keeps up the heat. This has been an awesome season to watch.

Yeah, I watched the end of that. Ouch.

Eagles clinched a playoff spot though. Still might need to win out for a home playoff game though.

Yeah, we can't bank on the Cowboys losing to the Redskins unfortunately. Because Minnesota lost, we could be fighting for a bye week as well. If the Eagles and the Vikings both have a 12-4 record at the end of the season then they'll both have a 10-2 record in the NFC, so I don't know who would get the No. 2 seed. What is the decision based on at that point?

Actually Minnesota already has 2 NFC conference losses, and their next two are against NFC opponents. so if they lose one they'll end up 9-3 in the conference and the Eagles win the tie-breaker.

Looks like the Saints are starting to slip... very happy that the Packers are returning to the playoffs.

Any interest in a Playoff Pick'em this year?

ZebraRampage 12-27-2009 11:47 PM

Re: Official NFL Thread 2009-2010

I'm interested in it.

The Saints are slipping, and I hope that the Eagles beat the Cowboys and the Vikings lose one of their last two games. It would be awesome to get the bye week.

Oh yeah, now that the Cowboys won, the NFC playoff picture is set. The AFC still has 7 teams in the running for 2 wild card spots.

Thank you, Chicago Bears!

Eagles in with a #2 seed and NFC East title if they win over the Cowboys.

Wow, like Eagles vs. Cowboys week 17 needed any more drama. Can't wait until Sunday.

I've realized that it's the morning after games like last night (Vikes/Bears) that I find my first gray hairs. Good god that was intense. Gotta hand it to the Bears, they played good football last night.

I'd love nothing more than for the Packers to beat the Vikings in the playoffs. As long as they then lose to the Eagles.
