Re: NHL Playoffs

It was a really close sweep, actually. It could have easily been 3-1, or 2-2.

However, with the Oshie line - I don't think they played well at all. They were completely dominated by the Canuck defense. But that just comes with pitting kids vs. men. When those kids fill out and work on their speed, they'll be alot more dominant.

SWEEEEEP!

God I love hockey.

Re: NHL Playoffs

nucks needed this break too eh. I don't think the prolonged lapse will detrimentally affect their play...they'll come out with the confidence that sweeping a series creates. If the canucks make it to the finals I'm heading to Vancouver for atleast one of the games, maybe two. Chances are they'll be the bottom seed so I'll be there for the 3rd and 4th games. Can't afford tickets but I just wanna experience that atmosphere. it's been 15 seasons since 'we' made it to the finals. think about it

Shutout! Go FLYERS! Game 6 here we come!

Re: NHL Playoffs

Caught the end of the Flyers game.

Man...I've never seen the life sucked out of an arena quite so hard. Even the players stopped caring. Everyone was kind of skating around listlessly, and the fans made no noise.

I guess that's what happens when you get thrashed so hard.

Re: NHL Playoffs

Sorry for your loss, Flyers fans.

I suppose we'll all have to just cheer for the Canucks now.

Re: NHL Playoffs

Yeah, that game was ridiculous. 3-0 lead at home in a game 6 and you blow it. That's the sign of a team who doesn't deserve to win anyway. Penguins have had our number the last couple of years.

I suppose I can root for the 'Nucks. I despise all of the teams left in the East and I always have a soft spot for Canadian teams because you guys definitely appreciate hockey more than us anyway.

Re: NHL Playoffs

I should be more excited for the Chicago Blackhawks seeing as how I'm a Chicago native and all...but then I would be a total poseur since I never watch hockey.

Re: NHL Playoffs

I'm actually rooting for the Blackhawks now. I am a fan of Philly teams and then Chicago teams. My dad is from Philly and my mom is from Chicago, so I grew up with it. Oh and as for Chicago, it's Cubs for me.

Anyway, definitely rooting for the Blackhawks.

Well they still have to beat Calgary.
Which I hope they do.

Aw man, remember when we all hung out and watched the Canucks win?

Man that was good.

And the first post (in the playoff thread) in another forum: "I can't believe they won tonight after blowing a 3-0 lead Chicago had it in the bag until they gave a stupid 4on1 up with a minute left. "

Go figure!

It wasn't a disappointing night for me. Chicago won and Pittsburgh lost, so I'm content. :)

Yeah, I was cruising the Canucks boards and everyone is bitching and dissing the team. Fans here are really fickle. It blows my mind. The Canucks are allowed to lose a game, man.

The series is at 1-1. It's not like we're out or anything.

Re: NHL Playoffs

See, this is what Vancouver needed to do last game - not rest on a lead. They played hard the whole game and were a lot more physical than the past games in this series.

They've been targeting players like Kane, and others who are quick and smaller than say the likes of Byfuglien. Making their forwards afraid of touching the puck is the key to this series.
