Is it not the best fighting game for Xbox? If it were on GCN prior to MK:DA) wouldn't it be the best (realistic) fighter on GCN?

Speaking of Virtua Fighter 4, did you end up buying that? I remember you were thinking about it loooooong time ago. It is such a good game, unfortunately there ain't enough people playing it to boost its sales.
Nope, haven't got it yet. It's hard for a fighting game to warrant a purchase from me... cept Tekken. 5 years ago I would have been the first person at the store buying VF, but now due to VF3's huge let down I don't even think about the series much anymore.

I will still give it a try, I just completly forgot about it.

I bought VF3 on DC (that was 3, right? ) because Sega had a nice sale at one time and sold a couple games I wanted for a mere 10 bucks... anyways, I played that game like once... it sucked ass...

But even I had fun with VF4... it was good fun (very fun against my friend cuz we were both about equally skilled at the game... that is to say, we both sucked :p ), just too hard for me and I was getting nowhere so I traded it for SSB:M... yep...

Basically: VF4 is cheap now I think, might as well pick it up :p

So then, is it safe to say the SSB series has the best fighting engine in the history of all fighting style games?

Well probably is the "best fighting game for xbox" but that don't mean it's any good.

For example with the counters. There's no (or VERY little) delay after performing a counter. Basically you can just keep on countering non stop and win. So stupid. So those chars with the 5 hit combos basically suck.

One major loophole. Sure you can throw people who use counter all the time, but there should be more lag after a counter.

Anyway I don't wanna bitch nemore bout this pathetic game.....pisses me off. I remember the developer was saying how much better the backgrounds and graphics were than VF and Tekken. He didn't mention that he knows sh!t all about making fighting games.

Um ............... no

It's balanced I guess which is good. There are some weak chars, but generally balanced.

But for a proper fighting game engine the tactics are kept to a minimum , but there still are some tactics. It's probably more tactical than DOA3 actually  Or maybe not

Argh when's Soul Calibur 2 coming out???

Interesting story on C-E, but what are the chances it's true?? It would be cool though... perhaps it could like play older GB online.. like Mario Kart and Wolfenstein. :)
