On Dragon Fly's list: The Rangers should be way way way higher than that. I predict them to make 5th maybe. Washington is exactly where it should be though, Perfect Stu, all they gotta do is beat out the Hurricanes to get in third, it's a pretty likely possibility. I think Carolina, Tampa Bay, and Boston will be lower down, with Montreal and/or Pittsburgh making the cut instead of one of one/two of those three.
As for Null's list: Rangers are way too low there also. Tampa Bay, Florida, Carolina, or Washington will be in the third place spot (or 1st or 2nd place...) so your list is a little flawed in that sense, and I don't think Boston or New Jersey will do that well either. |
im not talking seeds. i hate the seeds system going itno the playoffs. im talking just points. Aint doing that crap where team gets 8th place in points but makes 3rd seed just cuz of thier division....... a few teams i wasnt sure about. (im a little more knowledable about the West Conference). And playoffs is a whole nother story cuz teams do quite differnt often in the playoffs. jersey i was debating putting them as 2nd. they had a crap year last year and i see them doing a whole lot better.

Well, no Tampa Bay are good as they are, they might even go lower, but Rangers higher, no, you got to think that money isn't everything. And remember last year everyone though, i'm sure, that rangers were going to win the stanley cup because they had Bure, Lindros, Poti, fleury, andother good players, and did they. Even with the addition of Kasperitus, their deffence will still be weak, with richter in nets. uh. But their Offence i'll be stronger but not strong enough to win a stanley cup or place higher than 7 or 8.

Money or no money, the got a great team this year. Don't forget that they got Bobby Holik too, who's a damn great two-way player. They were getting better when Bure joined the team last year, and if they just put a little more emphasis on defense, they'll be pretty damn good this year imo.
|
Well fleury did a great part of the team to, and don't You forget that Fleury was one of their best player last year. But that won't change my mind, getting Holik. Like remember when dallas got Tourgeon, he did nothing the first year and now he sucks.
|
There Is no dought that detroit will finish first in the league or in their division, but as i said no stanley cup winner.
|
Fluery costed the Rangers a lot though, with his constant penalties and shenanegens. I like Fluery a lot, but he did hurt the NYR a lot last year, and with hime gone, thhere should be a noticablly less amount of penalty minutes for the Rangers. Holik is bigger, stronger, and a better two-way player. The Rangers don't need any more scoring with Bure, Lindros, etc. With Holik, they got a little scoring, but a lot of defense too.
Well, that's how I see it. We'll have to wait and see, but I think the Rangers making the play-offs this year is a sure thing. Oh yeah, and aren't you the same guy who said the Bruins would win the Cup last year? And I said if they do make the play-offs, they'll lose in the first round, you're that guy right? Boy, I sure called that one. |
Well, not to just blame the refs, but Dafoe did play like (crap). He let to much goals go in. But i'll hand it to Theodore, because if it wasn't for him Boston, Not to exagerate, would of scored at least 8-9 goals a game. And i blame the refs too, because they made a lot of bad calls, and whenever Montreal did something bad like, tripping holding, interference, it was minimum 50% called. But i'd tell you this, if Keanen was the coach of Boston last here, when they were in the playoffs, i would be surprised if he'd argue a lot with the refs in that series, he'd probably break or smash a hockey stick.

actually Cujo is one of the older players.
Bowman liked the older players. he always perfered to have veterens on his team. Lewis however. i think is not as stuck to the older players like boman was. Lewis is adding in a lot of the younger players this year. Avery, Zetterburg, few others along with our last year rookies like datsyuk, ficher. he not trying to get rid of older players. but he not going out of his way to keep them. He already Cut out Doug Brown, (long time redwing, retired last year. looking to make the team again) because Lewis said they had all the veterans they wanted. and he was competing with the youth players for a spot. and his just didnt fit in. As long as the young players we're getting are good. And they are. im very impressed with zetterburg. This will be a good thing. Its hard having to worry about players retiring on ya every year. hehe |
That's good, that he's giving the young players a chance and not to have much veterans, but Doug Brown ?
|
Well from what i know. it was Stacy Roust, Doug brown, and a couple rookies trying to make it in the preseason.
Roust made it. and Brown was fighting with the young guys for a spot. I guess Lewis saw something in one of them he liked over Brown. and in all honesty. brown might have been rusty. he didnt play at all last year cuz he retired. he was Actually doing color commentary once and a while for the Redwings announcers. when the normal color commentary guy couldnt make it. |
Man, look at montreal who got burned by buffalo 6-1.
Man that was embarrasing for theodore, that made a couple of mistakes. |
