I wish they'd go with a little-less safe with the starters. Every generation, they're basically an animal that's been pokemon'd. It's too bad because they've been doing some great, weird stuff with their monster designs these last few games, I'd love to see some of that with the starters.

(Though asshole-hipster gator is pretty great, I'll admit)

To start with fire pig or water cat... Tough choice. Water cat kinda looks like a moogle.

Pretty lame looking, but we haven't seen their next two evolutions yet.

At the moment I'm thinking I'll take fire pig. They are after all very clean animals.

The more I see the starters, the more I dislike them.

The grass one looks too much like Treecko. Water one like Piplup and that beaver pkmn. The fire starter (pun intended?) is just... boring.

The starters are sort of lame, but I'm growing fond of fire pig. I want to nickname him 'Ganon'.

The pokemon anime kinda works if you read as a self aware character who knows hes in a children's cartoon and is tormenting the characters around him with his 'studipity'. Kinda like Deadpool if your a comic fan.

Personally I look forward to seeing how future Pokemon games are named.
