Right now I'm doing a whole lot of nothing except for taking care of my family. Ironic.

I'm waiting for Spring to start so people decide to start getting married again, so I can have something to bartend at again.
I've been thinking about doing music again a lot lately, so I'll probably spend a schwackload of time focusing on that in the coming months.

Whoa, blast from the past.

I'm back in Dev Support at Propaganda and working on the new Pirates game, but I'm functionally a QA programmer now because I do programming for a lot of the day. Also, my friend Cam, the guy with the most experience in QA (from being lead Audio QA at EA for Need for Speed for 3 years) has accepted a Jr. Audio Designer position on Tron and I got all of his duties. Awesome, but terrible.

I guess I'll just keep calling it Dev Support; yeah.

I wouldn't even know where to start with getting a business registered with the gov't, and what type of business to choose. Anyone got any tips on that?

Try to find an "Executive Business" education program at one of the universities where you live. Our business school often offers courses and free lectures on the sorts of issues you raised for working professionals.

I am still in undergrad, working toward my BBA w/ Honors. I'm also in the Honors Fellows Program this semester, in which we teach freshman our senior year, which should be quite entertaining.

Working at a Fortune 500 company this summer as a financial intern. Hoping to save some extra money for law school.

Nothing grand from me yet. Just working at Wells Fargo in the Home Mortgage CS area. Kinda surprising I went from a temp in December 2008 (Rep1) to full time in May 2009 (Rep 1 > Rep 2 training same time) then promoted again in October of '09 to Rep 3 and thus getting time away from dealing with homeowners directly. Ever since that promotion, I love the hell out of my job now. Perfect balance between on and off phones for me and working tax/escrow cases. Now my supervisor is bringing up talks of bumping again to a Rep 4 soon.

Hoping by this fall I'll be ready to start working towards a Meteorology degree, something in the research field.

Due to lack of funding for college I've been out for over 2 semesters now. Providing uh... Live in care... in virginia right now, which pays 1500 a month plus living expenses. Been doing this since December, and basically all is going well. I should have enough money to take the 9 classes I need to graduate.

However due to recent events someone offered to get me into a culinary school near here on scholarship (Actually no idea how it would work). It's a 2 year thing.

So basically I have until August to decide if I want to finish my degree in Computer science and join the code monkeys of the world, or go to culinary school.

I've always wanted to go to Culinary school btw, however I really don't want to be in Virginia anymore. :(

decisions decisions.

Oh hey and I'm still a part time server at cracker barrel on the weekends.

Still drawing the first issue of my first pro comic. Going ridiculously slow. Wish I given an actual deadline when I started. My boss is far too considerate...and I suck at keeping my own self-imposed deadlines. 10th anniversary of the series so hoping I get the entire miniseries out this year.

So this is an intentional necro-revival. Where's everyone at now on the subject.

I have been with a medium sized insurance company for 2 years now. I handle claims over the phone, basically im the guy you talk to if you get into a minor car accident or have storm damage to your home or something like that. It could be worse but im starting to dislike it more and more as time wears on and ive begun looking for other jobs. Problem is where im at they act like theres plenty of room for advancement into other positions, then when you go to apply for something you are qualified for, you don't get the job. Its pretty frustrating.

Well, that happened a couple of years ago. Been working there since I graduated...sort of.

Year before last the company we did IT consulting for decided they wanted to insource their IT, so they offered everyone on my Dell team jobs.

We all accepted. Kind of hated working for Dell. Current company is very small, around 200 employees. It was also a pay increase and I have 100% free and fully covered health insurance now.

We also have some new digs - moved into this little office on main street, very cozy with all brick walls and such.

All in all, things are going well. I'm working on a Grails project, and I hate Grails, so sometimes that sucks, but oh well.

No plans on going back to school, ever.

In April of 2010 I finally got a job, but instead of an engineering job, I was just a construction inspector. The company that I worked for was called Prime Engineering Inc., and I worked on a Bridge Rehabilitation project around Wilmington, Delaware on the major highways, 95, 495, and 295. After that job I was moved to a roadway project in Newark, DE which is where the University of Delaware is located. I'm sure Germy knows all about this area.

Anyway, in August of 2011 I started a new job as a Civil Engineer Trainee with PennDOT (Pennsylvania Department of Transportation). I basically spent the year going through the office and learning what each unit does, and 5 of those months were also in construction as an inspector, which I already had experience doing. After that year was over I was put in my final placement, which is in the Utilities Unit. I'm basically their inspector for any utility work prior to any construction projects, and I inspect any railroad work on our state roads, so I'm constantly dealing with freight and passenger railroad companies too. It's nice to be involved with the railroad, but I really want to get involved in design further on in my career.

I'm working at the (inbound) callcenter of the municipality. Not what I learned for, but it's a fun job.
I have to find a new job in the coming months, because they don't have enough money to keep me.

Nice, I have that too, its called being a Canadian citizen. BAM!

Anyways, ive just started going to school for welding, and so far melting metal with fire is pretty cool. Not having an income kind of sucks but welding is booming apparently so hopefully ill land a nice job after school is done.

I work at a movie theatre. I am a Senior Manager which is right below the GM. I've been at it for four years now at my current position, which is the same amount of time I was working at a lower position combined. I'm working on getting promoted and/or transferred to a corporate position, but it hasn't been going great.

I have a lot of issues with the barriers in my way. Basically I feel most of those barriers are artificial, but I don't want to get into too much detail about it here.
