It was possible in Gears 1 - I don't see why it wouldn't be in Gears 2.

That was always a pain in the ass.

But I believe you had to go into the Xbox Live and start a player or ranked session but before you confirmed. Hit the X button on second controller to sign in as a guest or another account.

It was a pain that took ppl a while.

Just caught that on GAF, I haven't watched the IGN video or whatever it was because I hate IGN's video player with a burning passion but the screens are nice, especially the one you posted.
