Re: Who saw Spiderman 3? (give spoiler warnings plzx)
Don't know why didn't post in here earlier seeing the movie a bit ago.
To make this part short and sweet. Spiderman 3 does not disspell my theory that no superhero movie franchise can go for 3 movies. It happened with Superman. Batman. Blade, x-men and now Spiderman. Now before I say what disliked about the movie. Gonna say what enjoyed about it. The action scenes were top-notch. I mean some of the best in any movie. And for the most part all served their purpose. The scene with Bruce Campbell was good. And well JJJ as always has some awesome scenes. (For more awesome scenes check out Spiderman 2.1, you see him dressed up in the spiderman costume.) Now for the negatives. As far as I'm concerned there has been one superhero movie that has pulled off 3 villians successfully and not everyone sees it that way. (Movie is Batman Begins by the way) This movie does what others don't but till fails. Instead of like forcing all the villians together at the start, it tries to develop their story seperately. The problem then becomes that you are watching three different movies for the first two hours. Then the way all the plots are bought together at the end is retarded. Why o why does Venom need to team up with someone? I mean he doesn't even attempt to fight Peter on his own, give me a break! Even though he is a really minor character, I really liked Sandman in the movie. My only problem with him... why did Sand fly? Venom was wasted in this movie. He just did not come off as menacing. I think it would of been a better idea to end the movie when Eddie got the costume in the Church to lead into a 4th sequel sort of like Harry finding his father's stash at the end of 2. Goblin Jr. well.. was there sometimes. Then the cheese factor. All the Spiderman movies have their cheesy scenes and some of them work and some don't. Who honestly enjoys Mary Jane running thru the park at the end of Spidey 2? But this movie just over does it with bad cheese. I mean there are frigggin 2 dance scenes by the main character which go on too long and after a while go from funny to just plain sad. There are two musical numbers in the movie as well. Then there are the speeches.. I hate the superhero moral speeches. This one decided to go against having extended ones... to simply having several of them spread out though the movie. Pretty much any scene with Aunt May in it. Also, not sure how I feel about changing uncle Ben's killer. However, more importantly than that.. he apologizes.. and Peter just lets him go? He is still a wanted criminal and even if that original offense is cleeared.. he did rob several people in the course of the movie. |
