Again, I will put this into terms of the US presidency. If the President, the Vice President, and the next 6 people who would take over were all killed, would the person who filled the presidency be any less competent than the person in the spot originally? And my original point was that this will most likely spawn some sort of "So what, we're still evil, watch!" type sadistic bombing. Again, much like if the president and blah blah blah were killed, the US would respond with some sort of something. |

Lemme tell you, Robin Williams does a hillarious little snippet on the virgins thing during his Live on Broadway routine.

Wow, Bluefire, you were dead right. Crazy. As for your first question... NO, HE WOULDN'T BE. Why would you think he would be? He has no experience as the president. he has no idea what kind of responsibilities or time management he'll need. If you have convinced yourself that pretty much anyone in any kind of governemnt position could perform adeqquately as president on nearly no notice, thats strictly a fabrication and rationalization to support your own political views. BTW, since your such an expert on US Presidential competencies and power succession, who would be the 7th in line for the US presidency? And no, I don't expect you to know this. And yes, I am just making one of my reknowned smart-ass points. And yes, if you do reply with the correct answer, you did Google it. Dyne, you are completely right. American news organizations should not be acting in such a juvenile manner, especially in their powerful position. The whole point should be that we are above such petty and inflamatory rhetoric. Then again, it is the POST. Thats like asking the GLOBE to act in an honorable fashion. But even if Zarqawi was only the head in Iraq (he was much more than that), he still has all the experience and connections in Iraq. If they replace him with someone from another country, they are still starting from square one, and without any Suni help. |

So then on your first point, no president will ever be as good as the previous? Each president just keeps getting worse and worse and worse throughout history because they have no experience as president? For your second point, thats pretty lame, for the record. That was even below you. Who the hell does know the 7th in line for the presidency, short of someone taking a class, or actually needing that knowledge for everyday life. |

Presidents elected under normal circumstances have had time to dedicate to researching and planning (goals, catchy phrasing of words, etc)... Even after they officially win the election, they have a couple months before they actually take office... Seems fairly obvious... |
Re: *BREAKING NEWS* Abu Musab al-Zarqawi... DEAD!
You cant compare a presidential position (or any democratic position for that matter ) to leadership of a terrorist cell.
presidents are bound by laws, regulations, and legal processes. Terrorists can try do anything they want no matter how stupid, or illegal. secondly i was watching CNN and they had the press conference with the general and he said they most likely think that the replacement is an Egyptian guy who knew al-Zarqawi, and helped establish him in Iraq, but who knows if hes up to the challange. Only time will tell. |

And Typhoid, as for what I said being below me, I've said far worse, especially to you. If THAT hurt your feelings, I have not been doing my job well at all for the past few years. Just remember, each one of my many barbs comes dipped in honey with a side of love... before I beat you in the head with the golden logic baseball-bat. This only sounds like an arrogant statement because it is and I am. :D On a side note, the Iraqi peacekeepers and Us military need to hop of the good foot and get with the terrorist killing. Zarqawi's death is an excellent opportunity to pour on the pressure and convert more former enemies into informants. If they don't start in the next week or so, I fear that Typhoid's prediction may come true and the US and Iraqi governments may let a new Zarqawi settle in and get comfy. It will take a good bit for the new leader to take control, but worry we may give him that good bit. The key here is the take advantage of the chaos in Al Quaida, create more chaos for them and then give them enough slack so that they hand themselves with sloppy communications and organization. |
