I can't speak for the rest of them, but I was just saying you can't expect sony to sell anywhere close to what the ps2 sold.

Well see...this time when someone's PS3 breaks are they gonna shell out another $600 like during the PS2 era. That is unless they're made better this time around. A damn popular system but a lot of those sales were from people buying another.

haha...a very little percentage of PS2 sales were 2nd systems...unless you have the data to prove otherwise, of course

even if it was something ridiculous like 25%, (Im guessing it was <5% easily), it still blew away the competition. show respect.

The fact that PS2 continues to outsell Xbox and X360 indicates Sony has a large enough fan base to prosper in the next gen, even if they are not quite as dominant as they were before. MS's headstart and lower price will definitely help them, but it won't be enough.

Well duh, everyone knows of Sony's dominance. But for how long? Thats the question everyone is waiting to see in about 2-3 years from launch. We can speculate all we want but we wont know for 2-3 years who is more successful I guess.

Nintendo had a pretty strong holding with SNES...that transferred over real well...

Nothing lasts forever. Nintendo was once king and then Sony came. Because Sony is on top now doesn't mean they'll always be. Circle of life and all that jazz.
