VBR = variable bit rate? :love: That sounds great for small MP3 players....

I use MP3. I really don't hear the difference between 128 and 192, but since all the cool kids do it... :(

I know about those sound level problems you mention. Sometimes I had a crappy DVD rip with too low sound, when you turn your speakers up, you get a lot of noise. Later I discovered you can buff the sound with the equalizer. :D

I'm also pretty sure it's the boosting that's the problem. Thanks. :)
